Morning all,

had some ice on the car this morning when moving it for the workmen.  Headed to a high of 56 today.

My wife and the dog are already whining about the noise, and it's only been ONE DAY of work.

Great news! They've found dry rot in some of the wood AND termites!   $$$

Waiting for the Terminex man to show up to give me an estimate.

Hope to finish the track repair today.  I have a bad joint on a curve in a hard to access area.

Morning all,

Lunch with my former coworkers today. High is supposed to be 71 today so it might be time to get some yard work done. I'll consider that after lunch. The workbench will be tempting though.

Have a great one!

Good morning, Jeff, Bob and later arrivals. The NH seacoast is gray, damp and 50-ish. A northeaster passes by this afternoon and evening, the forecasters guess an inch or two of rain. My roofer is not present or accounted for, so one corner of my old barn will get leaked on.  I have a big backlog of modeling and non-modeling stuff to do, so I better get started.

Well, James, welcome home.

Dover rescheduled its Halloween from tonight to tomorrow (not sure why it was set up for Thursday over Friday in the first place...)  I need to put some sand on the granite step tomorrow so the kiddies don't slip on it.

Today's major accomplishment was to get DCC-EX working in both DCC and DC modes.  I bought a cheap used Android phone to run Engine Driver, because that has the best set of functions.  After a lot of learning curve and frustration with Android, I finally got Engine Driver to connect to the DCC-EX unit.  Then I ran my DCC test engine (Proto 2000 with a decoder, not sure if that's a factory decoder or installed by the previous owner.)  Next I switched track power from DCC to DC, and after I remembered to turn the track power back on, I was able to run my DC test loco (Atlas RS-1.)  I also ran factory DCC&Sound Athearn 2-6-0.  So a successful morning.

In the meantime, the dogs are at the groomer, so the house is unnaturally quiet.
