Morning All,

Pretty cold again this morning (it's all relative) in FL. I got some benchwork stuff done in the barn yesterday and expect to get a little bit of visible progress today as the paint is (hopefully) dry enough. I'm really pacing myself with this one as I want to make myself get it right (vs my usual 'rush ahead' style). I'm still developing the support for the upcoming shadowbox modules that will sit at near eye level.

When I have something picture worthy, I'll share.

I'm referring to my new HOn3 layout...part of the problem is the distraction of my fresh excitement for the N scale layout I plan to break ground on as soon as I have a good feel for the space in the room with the HOn3 setup in place. I'm really trying to get everything how I want it but, at the same time, make sure I can move it successfully if the time to downsize or relocate to the mountains comes someday...The N layout I want to build would fit nicely in 4x7, but would be nearly impossible to build in a modular form due to the twisty busy trackage...when the time comes, I guess I'll get an appropriately sized piece of plywood and "test-move" it down the hall, around the corner, and down the stairs  :o. In the meantime, my brain is spinning with ideas for how to make a removable two-sided backdrop, removable lightweight upper lighting valance, possibly even some removable mountaintops  ???.

I know...first-world problems. Date night tonight, so I better get moving.

Have a great day!

Chilly start to the day.  Yesterday it barely got above freezing, today it'll be more seasonal.  Since this could be the last cold morning, I need to go down and defrost the chest freezer in the garage, an annual event this time of year.

Yesterday's trip to Boston was successful, we think.  Wife is a candidate for the surgery, but that's a big deal.  The doctor sent her back for more x-rays, they didn't do them correctly the first time.  So we left Mass General in the middle of Boston Rush Hour traffic, and then stopped to eat on the way home.

Morning all,

Dave, Happy Belated Birthday.  ;D  Hope the surgery isn't to hard on your wife.

As John said, a little cool here this morning but I'm still going to edge and cut the grass.

Have a great day ya'll.

Good morning, all. Still overcast down by Massachusetts; I'm less than a mile from the border, which is nominally 3 miles from the Merrimack River.

Dave, faced with getting out of the former West End in weekday rush hour, I'd have checked restaurants in walking distance. But doing so, not sure what I'd have chosen. MGH has eaten the whole N side of Cambridge St.  I see several restaurants on the S side but the only name I remember fondly on either Cambridge or Charles is J.P. Licks.  Ice cream, but New Englanders like it enough the good places can stay open 12 months a year.

Need to complete an Annual Report chapter, then maybe layout time.

Good morning America!!
Well we had 6" of white stuff two days ago. Now, it's almost all gone!
These weather patterns are all over the place this year. Fickle!

I am working on a project, but it's not quite to the picture phase just yet. Just paper, paper and more paper. Hopefully, I will be able to offer visuals soon though.

I am not having any more birthdays. The candles are costing too much!
Have a great day everyone.

I did look at restaurants around Mass General, but that would have meant walking some distance, and wife wasn't feeling up to a long walk.  We stopped at a Greek place on Rt 1 in Peabody, short walk from the parking place to the restaurant.   ;)

Well another late check in for me but at least I got here.

I've been working to finish up the bridge project I have on the bench and realized I need to post update on a thread I started on it, so I will get to that after saying hi. Weather today was rather nice, a little cool but not bad at all. I've decided to treat myself and visit the NMRA national convention this year. We are going to make a week of it so I rented a house on the river and some of the kids and grandkids will join us. It is in Chattanooga so lots to do in area and maybe I can get some fishing in to.

Well off to early diner have a great evening.

OK, but beware if you start hearing banjos in that house along the river.   ;D
