Morning all,

Thanks for the well wishes yesterday.  I'm glad to be done with work.  I do hope to get more work done on the layout now that I have more time.

Sunny, but only up to 49 degrees for a high today.

I have an appointment with the eye doctor later this morning.  We'll see what he says about the cataracts we've been following for several years.

Hawkeyes basketball team didn't lead until the last two minutes of the game and managed to win to get to the Elite Eight.

Last year, I "failed" my cataract evaluation, "Your eyes aren't bad enough, and they're scrutinizing this carefully.  You'll be back."  This year I "passed", with surgery scheduled for May and June. I'm getting one Toric lens to correct astigmatism, the other eye isn't worth the $2k out of pocket correction.

It's back to winter for today and tomorrow, but heading back into the 60s next week.  After a run to the store, I'll head down to the train room.

Nice bridges.

Seems to be the season for cataracts.  My wife is in prep for that at the end of April, first of May and I saw mention of them, Mike in GA?, in Geezer's.  I did mine a year ago and 90% satisfied.  I don't need glasses most of the time.  Right eye has a "dazzling" radiating rainbow color in sharp contrasted light like headlights or the stylish clear lightbulbs.  Oh yeah, 'they' found the Doll has astigmatism.  Never been told that before...I can see the $$$ spinning like a slot machine...

Good for your Hawks Jeff, SPARTY plays late this evening, UConn  :o long day in preparation.  I'll probably have to put the hearing enhancers on the charger so they don't go South mid game.  :P

Bridge scene work here.  Yesterday's beautiful, sunny 65o morphed into heavy rain, and a startling drop in temp by this morning, still dropping thru 25o at 1000hrs, with bright overcast and breezy. The big Chill returns. :o

Enjoy all, stay warm.

Afternoon all,

Belated congratulations on retirement, Jeff!

I haven't been productive this week. I'm having some sort of issue with my hip and/or lower back. It wouldn't surprise me if I had a bad hip given the number of times I  came down hard on them back in my younger days when I played ice hockey. Then again, it could be nerve related. Whatever it is it hits me when I make certain movements.

Dave, scary as it may seem to have someone working on your eyes the cataract surgery is relatively quick and painless. Best of luck to you.

Have a great one!

Hey, Bob:  Did you get your LP mustaches done?  Did you use a pen?

My worry about cataract surgery is the eye drops.  I hate doing those, and usually blink and miss....

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

Currently in the 60's and getting into the high 70's with lots of rain expected later. Yesterday went very well at the VA with my new doc. She seems to be very down to earth and she told me my glucose and cholesterol numbers were very good. She also said I'm back to a pre-diabetic stage! She also cancelled one of my prescriptions. ;D

Today after animal chores I plan on doing some quality work bench time.

I hope everyone has a good day.
