Morning everyone. The Merrimack is almost mirror flat on this cool morning.  It was a horrendous ride to the hospital yesterday but we made it and back home by 1PM. I spent part of the afternoon priming the lobster boat. I noticed the $15 Jordan Erie shovel was no longer available, Jaime did you make a purchase?

Good morning, Dan and later arrivals.  The NH seacoast got down to about 60F last night; thin overcast now, supposed to reach the high 80s later. Plenty of fruit from my orchard so I'll put more Yellow Transparent apples and reliance peaches on the counter and start the urn heating up.

I'm off to Seashore again; we hope to get the last level timber spiked today.  That will leave 4 which must have a tilt to accommodate the point pivot area of the casting.  They can't be completed till we (the Museum as a whole, not just the Track Dept) make custom shims to allow for the tilt and properly support the "mate" castings  in between.

Howdy!

I need to figure out how to build a Jordan steam shovel  ;D

A tornado went though the 2026 National Train Show T-Trak world record setting modular layout.

Later.

Morning all,

Raining here and headed to 75 degrees later.

The turnout repair issue I thought might take an hour took over two as it didn't work initially.  I was replacing a mechanical switch with a Barret Hill Trains turnout control and while trying to test it I smelled a burning scent and the  board got very hot as did the wall wart.  Long story short, new wall wart, replaced both mechanical switches (there's one other turnout in this area), and both new controls worked fine, including the one I thought shorted out.  I still can't explain it, unless something happened to the wall wart, but it worked fine up to then.  Weird.

Not sure what's on today's agenda.

Morning all,

I need to mow the lawn. I don't feel like it though. Still congested and not feeling well. I doubt I'll hit the workbench today.  :(

Jamie, if you figure out how to build that steam shovel let me know how you did it. I have one in the stash.

Have a great one!

Grey with rain pending in MI. Out to breakfast with the Doll. Cracker Barrel was ok.  ::) Heading to thrift store soon.

Got involved in a major living room reorganization yesterday  :P then after dinner we had folks stop by unannounced and stay until the bench disappeared from the radar.

Enjoy the Erie shovel build.  :o

Be safe all.

Sounds like i might have to do another build thread... :D

The dogs are back from the groomers, and they'll be a bit clingy for a while.  But they look good.  So I should get some time in the train room this afternoon, once they settle down.

Is that a "build the most expensive Jordan model in your stash" challenge?

;D

Well, that's an idea. ;)

I guess it is the most expensive one in my stash. I gave all the rest to Tom awhile ago. There's probably a few hidden in some of the FSM kits I have on the shelf. George would include one in a kit ever once in awhile.

I think I only paid 10 bucks for it. But I do have the GC Laser upgrade kit which is even harder to find..
