Good morning Crew. Yes Karl you might have heard Terry and her friend Pat. My ears still hurt!

Yesterday went well and Terry got her wish. Surgery on the next lung instead of radiation. 11/12/2026 is the date with a time to be told to us on 11/11! While not the full lobe Pope Leo had removed it's a bigger wedge than the right lung that was cut out.

My friend I am helping on his PNW layout needs more bridges. I said yes. If Pat goes home to Racine today I will stop at Walthers and get 4 of the next 6bridges. We made a deal for the 2 Central Valley Model Works bridges I have in inventory because of course I did! If Pat decides tomorrow for going home one of the guys said he'll make the trek to Walthers.

Good morning folks,

Rick, thanks for coffee and breakfast.  Sounds like a busy morning. Wow on the photo.

Larry, good luck with the exhaust repair.  What a pain, but I hope you got the pizza.

Curt, hope the cyst heals soon. Hope you have a fun day.

TomACL, good idea to replace the old tires.  The day with the gang sounds like fun.

TomO, wishing Terry all the best with her surgery. Walter's sounds like a fun visit.

Karl, thanks for the beautiful photo.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's another bright morning warming to 79F.  I don't have plans for the day, but hope to update the engine shed thread.

Have fun,
mike

8) Sun and 40s, but the weather dud said clouds. Who knows.

Once home yesterday we did 1:1 again, tree trimming and the Doll cleaned the front of the house where she removed the shutters, we have new windows on order and the shutters impinged on the placement.  Not in style, they will likely NOT go back once the windows are done.

About 15 minutes at the bench yesterday, fumbling with couplers.  :-\

Have not discussed today's plan.

TomO, best to Terry.  We enjoyed watching the Pack last night on Amazon Prime.  As part time Yoopers we have to adopt them as our secondary team.  Hard for LIONs fans.

A little bench time might happen today, I don't plan on a lot of 1:1 today, but my plans often aren't my own. :-X

I read in the area new that the armed stand off S of Battle Creek a couple of days ago the armed man shot down 2 police drones and severely disabled 2 armored vehicles before the house burned down.

I've little else to add.  Another weekend is about here, I'm going to OPS at Keeney's.  Mike, why don;t you jump a jet and join us? We'd love to have you.   ;D

Rick, another fine fall scene, thanks for that.

LarryC, careful jacking up the van.  ACLTom, good luck with the cataracts.

Curt, ouch :'(

Enjoy the fall day, the last Friday before the Curse of Winter Sunrise/set changes Colder setting in next week.

Good morning, all. 69F is the forecast high on the NH seacoast and the sun feels strong even through a thin high haze.  Saturday is forecast as 10 degrees cooler, but then back to daily highs in the 60s next week.  It was warm enough near the Maine coast yesterday that I worked without a jacket. Unheard of when I was a kid, would have been unusual even 10 years ago.

I'm doing laundry this morning, then hanging it out (yeah, rather last-century).  My Bolt is getting a service (check the electronics' cooling fluid, change the cabin air filter) this afternoon along with new tires. 137K miles, 114K of them mine.  I'll call a friend who lives near the dealer; if he's not around I'll bring a book.  Otherwise my Halloween weekend will be Fall chores during the day, a contest between the computer, books and the layout in the evening.

Best wishes for Terry, TomO.

TomO, I hate they won't give you an arrival time at the hospital until the day before.  I understand why they schedule that way, but it sure is a PITA!  (One advantage of being diabetic is that I usually get pushed to the front of the morning queue, to better manage blood glucose.)

James, are there Chevy EV specialist dealerships?

Back to the train room in a bit.

James, are there Chevy EV specialist dealerships?
Maybe?  Some levels of service, training and equipment are probably more likely found at large dealerships, or maybe dealerships that have sold a lot of EVs.  When GM was recalling Bolt batteries in 2021, my local (small) Chevy dealer kept putting me off with excuses like "our forklift is out of service". Finally GM's "EV Concierge" directed me to a much larger dealership to the west. They did the job in 90 minutes.

We actually rode on NY&LB tracks a couple of times, from Red Bank back into NYC, when we lived on the Jersey Shore.  If you took any photos, I'd like to see them, particularly if he's built any of those attractive NY&LB stations....
Yes, there are maybe half a dozen NY&LB stations on the layout, as well as a number of RR-adjacent prototypes, but no pictures.  Joe built a few, friends from TMRC built others, modelers I don't know were involved too. I'll take some pictures next visit, but I'm pretty sure Joe would show it to another former NJ resident.
