Morning all,

Back from the Narrow Gauge convention.  I think it went pretty well.  Toured many layouts and took in a clinic or two.  I have about 380 photos and will share some in a separate thread probably starting later today after they are cropped and resized.  It was good to see John (Cuse) at the convention.  

Later this morning we'll be heading out to brunch and I'll probably be so stuffed I won't get much else done today.

Good morning, Jeff. I'm looking forward to the NNGC photos, but it sounds like Jaime is really eager.  It's about 60F now in the lower Merrimack Valley, cloudy with a chance of showers. Warming up a little with sun breaking through after lunch. Between my fruit harvest, fixing my Graveley's carb and my grandson visiting, maybe I can find time to move my most important project to the newly-accessible downstairs workbench.

Sun and fresh air in Michigan this morning.

Watched a robbery take place on live TV last night...Western Michigan kicked UofMich's collective butts up and down the field for 59 min and 59 sec.  At the very end the zebras gave M one second back at the very end, and in the melee in the endzone from a hail Mary pass M came out with the ball...  

No plans for today, yet.  Surely something will be presented.  Oh yeah to friends' for early evening get together,

Glad to hear the Twin Cities National Narrow Gauge Convention went well. I wonder did Mike Engler win best of show again.

It's been a hot one here all weekend. Highs in the very high 90's almost reaching 100. More of the same later on for the Labor Day holiday. I hope the sale tags don't melt off the model trains at the hobby shop.

Pictured today is some rail work around the railroad bridge leading into the Mississippi River over here in the Bluff City.

Wow, Jaime, that frog looks like about #4, much sharper than you normally see on freight RRs these days.  But I wouldn't ask for it for the Trolley Museum; it's self-guarding and the joints are made for much heavier rail than our 85 lb.  Narrow trolley wheels will go through an RR self-guarding frog OK, but the deep flangeways would make them bang passing the point,  And the cast-in joint halves won't accept compromise bars.

Just typical FL weather down here. Hot, humid, with a chance for some afternoon thunderboomers. 

I need to carve out time for exercising before I hit the workbench later on.

Good Afternoon Folks;

I have been away from the Forum for about a week so just catching up. I see Tom is back, great seeing you Tom! I had a friend from Michigan stay with us for a week and this past week I have just been catching up on stuff, no excuse for not checking in but oh well. I watched my AAA farm club team the USF Bulls win yesterday. In the 'old' days we called it college football, now that they are paid to play and jump from team to team every six months I guess they are a farm club at large for the NFL. We had a 7th year 'senior' playing on the offensive line. I wonder if they still have to go to class or does that get in the way of practice?

I have been still working on my pickle factory project. Hope to have the outsides of buildings done this week. Tried to make Gooseneck lights and finally figured out the magnet wire on LEDs were too thick, oh brother. 

Anyhow, hope everyone has a great Sunday.
