Morning all,

Cloudy and wet here with a high of 53 later.

Yesterday experienced a trip to Costco, an appointment for my car where they came to the house to do a software update, and working on a Proto 2000 GP7.  I have a decoder/speaker that will work, but need some LEDs for the lights.  I need to order another decoder for the other unit,  not sure if I'll use the same (a ESU Loksound 5 micro) or not.

These units are infamous for having cracked gears and a bit too much gear grease.  This unit had broken gears on all four axles and I spent over an hour cleaning it up.  I'll figure out which decoder to use on the other unit and order it and the LEDs today.

Morning Jeff and all others drifting in,

Walthers is famous for those cracked gears. The Judge and I learned to keep a dozen or so in the repair box for replacements.

Speaking of the Judge, he will be coming down this Saturday for the first time since he broke his hip last December. Any of the SBGs in the area are welcome to stop by as well.

Not sure what I'll be doing today. I'm in the train shed so that is a good thing.

Have a great day ya'll.

Good morning, Jeff, Tom and those on the way. I have several of the early P2K diesels, and got new axles for them back when Walthers was giving them out free. Excellent news about the Judge, Tom!

The NH seacoast has rain forecast this afternoon and through the weekend but it's sunny through high haze now. 50s overnight, headed for 70F again today.  Maybe modeling after the rain starts, but I'll be outside till then. Probably firewood time.

Good to hear the Judge will make an appearance!

After the exterminator stops by to try to get the mice in the attic under control, I have to take one of the dogs to the vet orthopedic specialist.  Titus has developed a 'skip', it might be some arthritis in a joint.  (I know what that feels like!)

Morning all,

I need to check with the boss to see if I can attend the SBG gathering this weekend. We're hosting Friendsgiving that day so she may want me to help prep. Then again, she may want me out of the way. Her call.

Breakfast, exercise, then pressure washing the driveway are on tap this morning. Workbench time this afternoon if I'm up for it.

Have a great one!

Good Morning;

Had some rain this morning and waiting on the A/C guy this morning. It went out a couple days ago and was suppose to be fixed yesterday but the young man had not brought all the nuts and bolts needed to replace the blower motor. I tried to find the right type but came up short so now just waiting. Not sure how I feel about that and if not running by noon  I am sure my attitude will change.

Anyhow, sounds great about the Judge and good to see you back at the bench Tom. Deb and I will be heading north this weekend to babysit grandkids so will miss the gathering.

I need to gt a haircut today so hopefully this A/C guy shows soon. Hope everyone has a great day.

Fog in Mich, atmospheric and frontal lobe ???
Rain and 50s all day today, the weather goon from W Mich used two new phrases, Lake enhanced referring to the inbound rain, and Sn** in the northern Mitten and UP, but no accumulation.

No one waiting for a/c fixers around here, but our heating guy is due here midweek next.

Good news, Tom, on His Honor enjoy the visit.

As I predicted, gas prices dropped the day after the electoral slaughter, $3.99 down from ~$4.50+- for months. Increased cynicism reigns here.  :-\

Well, enjoy the day all. Work to do here.

Be well.

Jim, enjoy the Grands

Well, my dog Titus had his appointment with the vet orthopedic guy.  He took Titus to their neurologist.  The consensus is that Titus probably has a bulging disk, and that's what is throwing his gait off.  It's really common in small dogs.  So as long as it doesn't get significantly worse, we just need to keep him from jumping off things.  All-in-all, an OK diagnosis, with no further expenses projected.

Our first dog had a disc issue as well.  They gave him some muscle relaxants for a few days and it seemed to clear.  Surgery would have $1000+, which would be over 3300 today.  Fortunately he improved as we didn't have that kind of cash at the time.
