I am not sure why I decided to build a church but I think somebody wanted me to build one for them for their layout in NY state.  I ended up producing 4 more with various roof coverings.

Was going thru all kinds of churches pictures online saving ones I thought were really neat that I could do in wood.  Believe this church sits on top of a cliff around san simeon California ?  I already had the windows ( grandt line ) and doors in stock , the clapboard AGED 3/32 spacing from northeastern.  3 shades of floquil white were used to colour the structure and make it weathered by still nice.  The upper bell tower vents were from Michael ? in Ohio, who produced a lot of great resin parts.  I used B I S raised seam roofing on the top of the pitched roof coloured using Fiebings USMC black leather dye mixed with isopropinal 99% pure 1% water so no warping.

Thank you guys for your comments

The early master creations kits in the advertisements full page in the magazines were things of sheer beauty and demanded that you buy them. I saved them all in a binder.

When I was in HO  I did buy one, received it and all those sheets, scared the hell out of me.  Next thing I know it was on ebay and gone to a new home.  Stayed with FSM kits and added SRMW stone roundhouse and then brick version and a few other of his designs.

WOW, that is looking real good, love the shingle color and the wood color.

The #145 we only saw that build in a black and white fsm advert.   Rarely did somebody build one and take digital photos of it up close and super clear. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Want to watch this come to a conclusion.   After seeing the FSM 155 and now this #145 come to life in pages on here, hopefully will encourage people to get them out of storage closet and onto the work bench.

I remember going thru what you just did with scribed siding and pins to hold the bands, was not fun as I was just learning.

Scribed siding has to be butt joined because the lines are length wise rather than up and down.  I believe that north eastern actually presses the lines in with a die.

If I was to build that now I would use scale 2 x 6 or 1 x 6 or 8 ,  and apply each board, would radically change the appearance for the better.

Keep going you have a decent audience following.

all the stacks and vents on the roof.   You need tar flashing.  White glue applied with toothpick and then very small pointed brush to apply black paint to simulate tar.  All adds greatly to the finished look.

Dioramas / HAMILTON'S in HO
February 17, 2020, 11:59:39 PM
This is HAMILTONS  a scratch build in HO scale using : northeastern scale siding , Campbell shingles, grandt line windows and doors, northeastern scale lumber for board on board.

Paint is floquil using 3 different white shades to age the structure other than nail head impressions and lifted clapboard.

Must have been standing in a gopher hole on a few pictures ,  got lopsided.

STROMBOLI'S soon to be replaced.   The name is familiar but I am unsure which structure it is and where it is/was on layout.
