Morning all!

Frosty snow in the trees this morning up here on the mountain.  I am spending the day filling order and a bit of time working on a new HO kit design.  Have a wonderful day!

Great haul Jamie.  Hope you did not have to sell your airline ticket to the NGG to get those. Curious if you are willing to share, what was the average price you paid for those?  I still need a bunch more and wondering if there are still any reasonable prices to be had out there at shows.

Howdy.

It's a new month. 2022 is flying by.

I unpacked all my Springfield loot and ended up with a total of 24 Jordan Highway Miniatures kits. I'm tickled.

Time to make the doughnuts.

John & John, if you are at the Marriot, it is really just a block...ok a bigger block away from the Show.  You should have no problem pushing a shopping cart that far every day!

We will be there as well. Not looking forward to the traffic. I worked in Bellevue for a few years commuting back and forth from Salmon Arm, to Bellevue and down to the Renton Boeing plant. Should be a great show, assuming the borders are opened by then!

Super Detailing / Phone Booth - The Art of Detail
January 26, 2022, 08:31:01 PM
Here is the next segment in "The Art of Detail".

It is about building our new phone booths in O scale, but more importantly, it is about the precise painting and application of glue when assembling small components.

Enjoy and I hope you can learn something from it to help your modeling.

Thanks Guys!

George, just remember that all makeup sponges are not equal. For this technique you want to make sure you get the ones that have a very smooth texture. I have seen them in both flats and wedges. The wedges seem more common.

Also as a note, if you are finding that you are filling in the mortar lines with paint, then you have too much paint on the sponge and/or are pushing too hard on the surface.

Hope all goes well with the move back to the Queen's territories.

Best of luck in the new business venture. The world needs more model railroad businesses to keep the hobby going. I am sure you will make millions of HO scale dollars!!! You will be able to work 16 hours a day being self employed, but will be able to pick which 16 hours!

Seriously though, best of luck with the move and new venture!

Hi Folks,

Thought I would share the first video in our new "Art of Detail" series.  These will be short videos on everything about details and detailing your model railroad structures and dioramas. They will air every week on New Tracks Modeling Zoom sessions and You Tube. You can also subscribe to them directly on our Interaction Hobbies You Tube page.

Jeff, I know what you mean about driveways. We have 2000 feet of it to clear and we do get a bit of snow! Can't imagine it without our little Mule.

Mario will be missed. I had heard he was not doing well just before Christmas. Wonderful modeler and he did such a great job sharing the worlds best modelers on his website.

-23C this morning and glad I plowed yesterday. Would not be fun today with the wind and that temperature.  Coldest Christmas ever for us here on the ranch.  This reminds me why we moved from Edmonton and Calgary! Had a nice quiet Christmas get together and plan on a week of left over turkey ham and smoke salmon leftovers and eventually sandwiches.
