Howdy,

We are --this-- close to the holiday weekend. Maybe I will find time to do some trainy thing or two.

It is still hot here. When I was in high school it was already windbreaker weather for Labor Day. Maybe I was less tolerant of the weather when I was younger  ;D

Pictured here is a very small train station/whistle stop at the Franklin & South Manchester. Belverton, it sounds like a great place to be for the Labor Day holiday.

I had better get back to work already.

Howdy.

It's the middle of the week. It's all downhill from here.

Lately I've been trying to finish the Campbell sand house kit. I need to find some foam to build a sand mound. I have the sand tower about 85% finished eve though it is not in the photo.

Howdy,

Getting started a tad later today. I meet with some guys for a morning workout and we stayed afterwards to discuss the recent arrest of the local mayor. Turns out the mayor stole his opponents political signs. What a buffoon.

If you are headed to the National Narrow Gauge Convention in the Twin Cities make lots of photos of the contest room. Pictured below is an entry from the last convention held at the Twin Cities back in 2018.

Howdy.

No breakfast yet. However, I am hoping for an omelette, some fruit and iced tea.

I trust all are well following the reports of floods in various parts. Lots of heat and no rain here.

I got my work done on time yesterday. No news from the big boss is good news.

On to a new month.

Howdy.

Welcome back to the forum, Frank.

Some of you may be traveling to the National Narrow Gauge Convention at the Twin Cities this week. I am not one of those  :-\ If you are going to be there, make lots of pictures and share them.

Pictured below is John Siekirk who rode a passenger train with us on the last National Narrow Gauge Convention held at the Twin Cities. It was a rainy train ride. Some fell asleep on the way back to the Duluth depot. Any day when you can ride a train is fun regardless of the weather and level of activity.

Howdy,
I need to finish off August today. I've already turned in my timecard. Otherwise, the VP of my work division will send me a crafty communication urging me to "bill the customer" in a timely fashion. I don't want to be on the VP's "illustrious" list.
Live it up today.

Howdy.

Last day in August. Labor Day is around the corner. Hopefully cooler weather is as well.

We took a train ride during the Seattle, WA 2012 National Narrow Gauge Convention. This is one of the locomotives pulling one of the trains, Willamette no. 2.

Time to make the donuts.

Howdy.

The weekend is winding down.

Back in 2014 we took a train ride in Alaska as part of a cruise. The train was waiting for us right where the cruise ship docked. It was a a fun excursion.

Howdy.

There was a bright full moon this morning when I walked the dogs. I trust that will bring clear skies and a great Saturday to all.

Lionel Electric Trains may have been the start of it all for many in the hobby. I never had a Lionel train set. However, many of my friends and acquaintances relate Lionel to model railroads so they often offer me Lionel stuff. On the F&SM there is a reference to Lionel Electric Trains when you first walk into the layout room.

Howdy.

I visited Rich Nemchik's layout way back during one of the Timonium shows about 5 years ago. I made this photo of a very nice scene on his railroad. Perhaps some of you purchased the Bar Mills kit named after him.

Have a great start to the last weekend of August this year.

Howdy.

Today is my Friday. I took off from work tomorrow. I have to get going to my first conference call of the day.

We have two small dogs. They are spoiled rotten. Every day is "dog day" at my house.

Stay alert and don't risk any unnecessary "1,000 ft falls". It is OK to say, "I will pass on that and find an alternative.".

Howdy.

Today is my Friday this week.  I took the day off tomorrow.

I ran across this photo at the Shorpy site. They have some way cool old photos there. The guy in the foreground is thinking, "I told you so....".

Have a good one out there.

Howdy.

We will always love Dolly.

Dentist said all my numbers look great. I get to keep my teeth for another 6 months. The $2 tacos were delicious. How that place makes any money on them is a mystery.

It's hard to believe how fast this month is going by. I have a long weekend coming up this week so I am looking forward to that.

Howdy.

Many are saddened by the passing of Dolly Parton  :'(  Deepest condolences to all who loved her.

It's the middle of the week so it's all downhill from here.

I believe this structure here is my favorite on George Sellios' Franklin & South Manchester railroad.
