Good Morning, All!

Sunday, the end of May! Severe clear here in the northern mitten, with temp at 60, headed for 67.  Cell service appears to be being interrupted by leaves breaking out on trees, but we'll see.

The silver bullet is showing READY with Blue Moon Blend, we have omelets of choice and home fries on the grill and various kinds of brats available as well.  Drinks are in the cooler, and there are frosted cupcakes for those who have birthdays today. Hot water for tea, etc is available as well.

Many thanks to all who commented on the rib isues... no major pain now, and the docs are not worried, so I'll just keep chugging along. Make it a great day, All, and stay safe!

Good morning All!

Severe clear here in the northern mitten today, with temp now at 55, headed for 69 and the ritual fire danger warnings posted all over everywhere due to lack of rain and expected winds....

Apparently cracked a few ribs a couple of weeks ago when I tripped on something invisible on a wall-to-wall carpet in the store, so no lifting for awhile.  Sale of the building went well, though, so now I need to deal with a raft of gummint forms about which I knew nothing....

Make it a great day, All, and stay safe!

Morning, All!

43 under the grey blanket here in the northern mitten today.  Apparently there may be a chance of White Gifts from Above here tonight, but it's supposed to go away quickly.   I'm OK with the "go away quickly" part, and hope it doesn't show up until well after I get home from the Op Session tonight!

Dave, best wishes for Madame to heal quickly, completely and permanently.

Make it a great day, All, and stay safe!

Good evening, All!!

Sorry to learn that Dr. Wesolowski has passed.  He was an inspiration to me for many years.

I did get some good news today... Marty McGuirk's new book on Autumn Scenery arrived in today's mail, and it appears to be chock-full of good stuff, hints and tips on making autumn scenery, especially in the northeastern USA.  Gonna need some time to read and learn!

And in a burst of "I gotta do this NOW!!" I went to the lumber yard, bought a piece of 4x8 blue board, had it cut to fit into the car, and now have lost a major excuse for not getting the city done over the helix.

Life is Good!

Make it a great day, All, and stay safe!

Mornin,' All!!

37, feels like 34 and patchy grey blanket on top with evidence of sunshine here and there in the northern mitten today.  Good day to get some coffee, sip some and then honor the colonials who met the British Army in Lexington and Concord Massachusetts 251 years ago today in what became the American Revolutionary War. We owe those people in a very Big Way....

Stay safe!

Mornin,' All!

The grey blanket is firmly in place and leaking considerably here in the northern mitten, which it plans to do for several days.  At least it's leaking liquid and not WGFA.  There are flood warnings up here and there....

Bob, good luck with the hip!  I saw the Doc in December for issues with my arthritic  "good hip," and was told I needed to have a couple of cortisone shots before they could cut anything.  Shots are 91 days apart.  Day 91 saw my pacemaker being replaced on schedule, and I'm now awaiting the appointment for the second shot, hopefully this week.  Thrill a minute around here, but at least it means that the replacement hip will arrive in good weather, and not in a blizzard....  Medical decisions in this country are not made by medical people... they're made by lawyers and accountants....

And life goes on....  Division meeting next weekend, and a commemoration of the 1775 "festivities" at Lexington and Concord as well.

Stay safe!

Good afternoon, All!!!

Sorry to hear about Dave Bucholz, and send best wishes to him and his family and friends. The grey blanket is trying to come apart here in the northern mitten, but the seamstresses work pretty well up here and it seems to be holding together. Therefore no live views of the Artemis mission.... <sigh>

Looks like off and on rain for the next week or so, and I'll be OK with that, as long as there are no more white gifts from above! Make it a great Good Friday, all, and a great weekend to follow!

Best wishes, Dave!  Several years ago one of my local guys had a nasty cancer of some sort on his leg, and was given six weeks to six months to live.  The decision to amputate was made, and they "cut him off at the knee" or words to that effect.  He showed up at last Wednesday evening's Op Session, ran a train, had a ball and stayed late.  And I should probably note that he turned 91 in January....  Life is Good!  May you have the best recovery possible, quickly, completely and permanently.

Good afternoon, All!  It's around 30 or so here in the northern mitten, but the grey blanket is off and there's an enormous white light in the sky!

Karl, remember what Coach Izzo told his players before they went out last night....  Good stuff.  And yes, an "if only" finish....  <sigh>

Dr. Jeff:  Now that you've had a few days to contemplate retirement, I have a suggestion: Learn how to say "No."  You have all this extra free time, so....  Trust me on this!

Stay safe, all!

Good Afternoon, All!!  The white gifts from above have begun to arrive again, and the prognosis for the rest of the weekend is Very, Very, White.

And probably because of the date, I cannot seem to insert the appropriate image from Walt Kelly....   It's Friday the Thirteenth!

Stay safe!

Mornin' All!

My recovery continues, albeit slowly, but there is notable progress, which is Good.  And there are indications that I may have found my lawn!!  I must have left it outside last fall....  41 here in the northern mitten, headed for 50, with wet gifts from above arriving in a couple of hours.  These may or may not include thunder, so it should be an interesting afternoon.

Make it a great day, All, and stay safe!

Mornin' All!

Here, at least, it's still March 5th....

35 and mostly clear skies, but the ones around the sun appear cloudy here in the northern mitten.  Supposed to be in the 40s today, so we'll see....  My recovery continues, but slowly.

Be positive, test negative and make it a great day!

Good Morning, All!!  It's 38, headed for 45 here in the northern mitten, with actual sunshine making shadows on the snow!!  There's hope!!

In other news, I'm recuperating from emergency gall bladder surgery three weeks ago or so, and I'm glad to be alive.  Don't mess with that stuff!  Just Do it!!  The call from the masseuse, who didn't like what she was seeing (I apparently wasn't "me"), literally saved my life, and I am eternally grateful for her making that call. The hospital admitted me immediately and the surgeon pulled the gall bladder within 48 hours.  Found out a couple of days later that it was dead, infected and showing signs of coming apart. Had it burst, it would have spread gangrene and who knows what else all over my insides, and that would have meant Sepsis and Game Over. So we were Just in Time....

PSA:  If you have a stomach ache and pain in the lower right front, head for the ER Right Now!!

Best wishes to all!  Stay safe!
