Baggage Car - Daily Chat / Ben Poole?
January 15, 2026, 10:50:09 AM
Anyone have contact info for Ben?
I understand he lives in Atlanta.
I came across him in the New Tracks web magazine.
I'd like to see if he might be interested in my sawmill.
Thanks,
Marty

Here it is at the bottom of this page.

Thank you. I have high standards.
Rick, yes scratch built.
Being a furniture maker and building Windsor chairs I figured I needed at least one.

ACL I'm here to inspire and help.
Let me know.

Thanks guys. It hurts a lot less now than before surgery.
That's what happens when you take 15,000 steps a day on concrete.

Anyway this is my Christmas project.
I needed a cabinet for stuff.
Based on a picture from the Sierra Nevada machine shop.
Mostly sheet styrene and some strips.
The junk took the longest.

In progress pictures.

Thanks guys.
Keeps me busy (and distracted) healing from knee replacement.

Working on a tool cabinet for the machine shop.
Stay tuned up!

I hope y'all forgive me...
I rarely ever do this but I bought a kit. 😳
Sometimes it just makes sense.
I needed a power plant for the sawmill.
I wanted a 40-50's V-8
This fit the bill.
I had to make it more civilian and make a base.
At least the air cleaner is scratch built. 🤣

Those "wire lights" are a great find!
As long as they're hidden.
Looking good!
