Tom, you are a true man of your craft. You take things most wouldn't attempt and put out true artwork. I love seeing these beauties come to life.

Scheww, Tom I for one am glad you decided to continue. I have kept up with this thread for day one. It is like a great novel and to think It would just go away with out some fantastic ending would be a disaster. I know I don't post as much as I used to but I am here in the shadows watching and waiting for the next updates. I know it is a ton of work to post all that you do. Thanks for all the time and effort that you do to share it with us. For me It keeps the dream of building a layout of my own someday.

Tom, the layout just keeps getting better and better. Thanks so much for all the effort you put in to showing us. I can honestly say this thread is the one I check to see if there is an update everyday. I am almost disappointed when it hasn't been.

Thanks guys. I appreciate all the kind compliments.

I made a trip out to the club today to drop off the plastic pyramid. I will admit the club members were pretty excited to see it go in place. As for now my contribution to the steel facility are complete.
Here are a few pics I snapped when it was set in place. Now its time to do some real modeling.

Thanks Thom, I will post some pictures of the completed scene once it is in. I built the high line for the layout already and that is installed. I haven't seen it yet though.

I just wanted to show that I have actually been working on something. My club built a steel mill extension to the layout this summer. I was lucky enough to be asked to build the blast furnace. I can honestly say that this may be the worst collection of plastic bits there ever was. Not many of the parts fit and several where warped so bad I had to boil and reshape them. I was honored that they asked me to do it. Here are a few pics of it. I'm sure others may have built this gem in the past. So for now it is no more plastic for awhile. Oh, unless it is a Jordan. Those are fun.

Here is an Ebay link. I have order some like these in the past. They actually have smaller ones if you look through some of the sellers.
