Great start Bob.  You might induce me to purchase this kit, like I need anymore kits.  Those details they provide look really nice.  Mark

Nice start, turning a freebee into a work of art.  I'll be watching.  Mark

Tom.
Nice solution to your problem. Your separation of the two structures makes perfect sense.  Still following along, enjoying the journey.

Quote from: deemery on February 25, 2026, 06:15:28 PMHow did you attach the shingles?  In the South River kit I built, Bob recommended glue stick.  I've been using that since.  It works well, but I still have some concern about long term adhesion.

dave

Hi Dave, I believe the shingles came from Mine Mount Models, all I used was Matte Mod Podge.  I did use glue sticks per the instructions from SRMW's for Delabarre Woolens back in 2013/2014.  Those were thin paper shingles representing slate, but I did have some issues with them coming up a few years later, so I had to sneak some glue underneath to fix the issues.  So, I would not recommend using glue sticks from my personal experience.  Mark

Nice work Jeff.  I remember when this kit came out.  It was my first build of a wood kit.  Mark

Thanks Tom.  I love this hobby.  My journey into craftsman style kits started with South River Model Works kits.  Always a pleasure to build, though time consuming.  Mark

Those look great, didn't know they offered them.  Agree with Tom, they present much better than white metal pallets.  Nice job on those Bob. Mark

Many thanks to all those who responded to my build, Mark, Jerry, Greg, Ron and Mike.  It was a fun build, currently working on Atlas Gorge from Fos Scale Models.  It's been a busy winter, sorry for the lack of a quick reply.  This Atlas Gorge diorama is going to take some time.  It's my largest yet.  Mark
