Rick, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast. Safe travels and good luck at the stereo shop.

Curt, good luck with your errands.  Have fun painting all those figures.

It's a hazy morning. Eye appointment went well.  The cataract surgeries were a success.  I ordered new glasses yesterday.  It will be busy all weekend with family functions.

Have fun,
mike
Did you do both eyes at once, or was this Eye #2?  I'm in that strange state between eyes.  The new eye is very nearsighted, and I'm going to look for cheap readers today.  For now, close vision is mostly using the very blurry other eye, and I'm feeling some eye strain.  Eye #2 gets fixed in 2 weeks.

The big blast of spam applications continues, I've asked Keep It Rusty if the forum software allows to block the one IP address where all this crap is originating.

Morning all,

Cloudy with a high of 71 today.

My son and family will be arriving this evening, so I'm sure there are some 1:1 tasks to perform today.

Great details, especially the wood pile and rusty drums.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Safe travels today.

Started out the day with a walk at 76F with high humidity heading to the 90's later. The only thing I did  at the workbench yesterday was cutting off sprue from 12-3D printed people and spray them light gray. Late in the day I did get the gutters done.

Today will be spent doing errands for Dad and Son. I doubt I will make it to the workbench. I also have a haircut and beard trim at 1 pm.

Good morning everyone.

57 in Omaha, rain all day with a high of 70.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Fried egg, a sausage pattie and a slice of cheddar on a toasted english muffin for breakfast.

TomO, have fun at the work session.

Ron, congratulations on the successful programing and how was the hockey game?

Jerry, did you sit at the bench?

Dave, hope the eyes are better today.

ACLTom, hope it's all good news from the blood draw.

Larry, hope the second visit isn't that expensive either.

Mike, hope the eye appointment went well.

Karl, maybe some modeling time today?

Curt, hope your son has nothing but good luck with his new vehicle.

Yesterday was mostly a driving day.
Today will be much of the day.
I headed to Des Moines where there's a stereo shop I want to visit.

This is an old picture from Saguaro NP.

Quote from: jbvb on May 20, 2026, 10:27:35 PMI hate to be That Guy, but as the owner of many pigs over the years, they're an animal where the pen's posts go on the side away from the pigs and the fencing/boards/whatever inside the posts, facing the pigs.  That makes it much harder for them to push the nails/screws/bolts loose....
That thought had occurred to me after I built it  ;D  I had this vision of a pig leaning against the boards.

Exactly.  I have a good eye for Serious vs decorative fencing.  Cattle also frequently test fences, sometimes in pursuit of a bite of clover, sometimes just scratching an itch.  Once we had a Dexter cow (a pretty low-slung breed,  my elbow is at typical shoulder height) which learned to jump clean over a 4 foot fence. I tried to talk my wife into  promoting her as The Celebrated Jumping Cow but instead we ate her.

Are you thinking something electro-mechanical for the stop like a limit switch, or something digital?
