Time for a quick update on the roof. I was also going to show some modifications that I'm doing to the water tank but I wasn't happy with the photos, so I need to re-take those. Anyway, I sprayed the supplied paper for the roof with grey primer and flat black paint in an erratic pattern.

I don't like the look of tar paper when it's cut a scale 3 foot wide, I feel it looks to wide. I like the look of a scale 2 and 1/2 feet wide better, so that is how I cut the strips.

Three strips of transfer tape cover the roof to attach the tar paper.

Then the tar paper is attached.

After the roofing was trimmed to the edges of the roof, I dry brushed some white over the tar paper.

I then used a felt tip pen to make the roof look like the edges of the tar paper have had been sealed with hot tar.

That's it for now, next up more roof weathering and water tower changes.

It's coming along nicely. I like the way the felt pen highlights the edges.

Nice work on the roofing material.  I like the way you painted it a couple different shades then cut it up for use.
