Does anyone know how many structure kits are in the Micro-Scale Lopez - Jennings lumber series of kits and what they are? Pictures would be good. I live one hour away from Lopez and my wife grew up 10 min. away. Been thru there allot and yes the rocket is still there. I would like to build them and eventually a Jennings Brothers sawmill Lopez line. Any help would be greatly appreciated.    Thanks

Rick,

Not sure how much I can help you with your specific question, but I do have some leads you could check out.

Valley Model Trains does have photos of some of the Micro-Scale kits on their website.  I believe VMT is no longer open.

Micro-Scale's website apparently no longer exists.  I do have an address from several years ago.  Not sure if it is still valid, but here is what I have:
                                                                    Micro-Scale Models, Inc.
                                                                    1476 Markley Road
                                                                    Pennsburg, PA 18073

I also found two links that might help with the history of Lopez and some photos.  First, a book on Sullivan County industries that is now available online:  https://sites.rootsweb.com/~pasulliv/SullivanCountyHistoricalSociety/SullivanIndustries.htm
Coincidentally, it was published by Endicott Printing Company, at that time owned by my great aunt.

Second link is to the History of Lopez.  There is also a photo album on the site and large photos of the industries are available for purchase.  Here is that link: http://lopezpa.com/lopez-history/

I believe one of the Taber books on the Logging Industry of Pennsylvania covers Lopez, but I have no idea which one.  Maybe someone with the index will chime in with that information.  HTH

FWIW, I went in and deleted the incorrect number so there would be no confusion.  Thanks Karl, for providing the current phone.

Karl Scholtz  (postalkarl) knows Don so you might try contacting Karl.

I do know Don's son was running the business. and I thought I saw some postings on eBay. He also appears to have an Etsy store (https://www.etsy.com/shop/MicroScaleModels).

Hey Bob The builder:

I just talked to Don Reed. He said to give him A call. The number above no longer exists. Call this number 267-205-4791. He will help you out with your requests.

Hope this helps.

The Taber book you'd be interested in would be Book 3 of the Logging Railroad Era of Lumbering in Pennsylvania.  Chapter 3.4 covers Sullivan County on pages  353 through 362.  It does include a track map from Lopez north and some photos.
