Morning all.

Raining and 50 degrees here, headed to 67 later.   No plans for today, not a "manic Monday".

Good Afternoon, All!

Happy Monday!  It's a glorious 47 here in the northern mitten, headed all the way to 55 today, which is in the generally right direction for now.  Grey blanket on top, and a good day to be downstairs working on the railroad.  I've actually been able to add power to three spurs that needed it, adjust a bunch of tracks to get rid of the post-it notes left over from the last Op Session, and fix a building that had been bonked at some point. Next up is the vacuum, then track cleaning and then re-staging.  Gonna be a busy couple of days to get ready for Wednesday's Op Session.

Make it a great day, All, and stay safe!

Afternoon all,

It's partly sunny, 88 headed to 94 with 64% humidity here in Central Florida.  I took my walk at 6:30 a.m. to try to beat the heat.  I'll spend the afternoon indoors in the A/C.  Time to pick out a movie and pull out the workbench.

Have a great one!

After German, I spent an hour watching "iron_jonsey" videos showing his mostly turn-of-the-last century machines and machine shop.  One thing I love about his videos is that, once he gets a machine running, he lets the camera watch the machine work for a while, which gives me a good idea how fast that machine accomplishes a task.  This video was particularly useful, it shows the belt drive including shifters:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2p_zroZszA   Now I'm inspired to kitbash some new machine tools.  But first, I need to get the walls done, and that means figuring out the length of the studs, including trimming the studs that are too long.

Good evening, all (though 10:15 PM is maybe a bit beyond 'evening'). I drove my Bolt to North Conway NH today for a pre-opening ride up Crawford Notch to Fabyans (Mt. Washington Hotel) and return.  Some good conversations with other preservationists.  On returning I checked in with Seashore for Track Report content and found the same rigger who moved the Flying Yankee last July is at Seashore preparing to move a Philadelphia Budd subway car to a new home in Kingston NY.  So a bit of a reunion tomorrow.

Between the moving job, which will probably run all week, and evening meetings, no modeling likely till rain sets in Thursday and Friday.
