Howdy folks,

Rick, thank you for your encouragement.

Philip, thank you for the hilarious image that is so appropriate.

While watching the football game today, I finished designing most of the Port Office.  I need to add tabs and slots, roof panels, and then it will be finished.  Alas, I checked my birchwood plywood supply and discovered I was out of the laser board that I need.  Amazon promises it tomorrow.  ;D

Here is a photo of the overall design. The first image will go in front of the second image.  I have rafters and tails designed, too.

Okay, not be be distracted from the Oil Well, but this Post Office design has been rattling around in my head, and I wanted to get it on paper...

Have fun,

Howdy folks,

Kyle, Dave, and Philip, thank you for your comments.  Kyle for your encouragement, Dave for the laugh, and Philip for the humor.

This morning I cut out the Post Office.  I still need to cut the roof cards. Laser software had two updates since I last used it, so I had to spend some time becoming familiar with the new features.

The siding will get some distressing, then the battens. I'd like to add lines to the roof cards to guide the singles, but that will require some familiarization with the saw-tooth shingles.

Here is a photo of all the main components fresh from the laser.

The PO will get white paint, but it will not be in the best condition, since the era is after WWI, and government resources didn't go to the post office buildings. I haven't decided on an interior, so the roof won't be removable.

Have fun,
mike
