Have no fear, the 13th is here! :o

Sun and high teens going to make a run at 40 today "they" say.  We'll see.

I have a Campbell bridge kit I bought at the 'estate sale' Hobby Shop in W Grand Rapids and it was partially assembled.  Yesterday as I was trying to tie two truss sections together the prior owner's glue came to it's limits >:( and I ended up with a bigger pile of sticks than I had to begin with :( .  Today, I try to recover it without wrecking it worse.  The instructions in the kit are so old they're almost orange and brittle, at least my Epson Scan and Print Ecotank has a decent COPY function and I've been able to redo some of the diagrams. Challenge is also a couple of apparent errors in what had been done.   ::)

Sometime today I need to sneak out and get a Valentines Day card for the Doll, she gave me mine yesterday with a book she bought me.

I hope everyone has a fine day, stay well and healthy.

Morning Karl and others,

I've no fear of the 13th. I do have a fear of never getting this layout finished. Yea, I know they are never finished but I'd like to be more finished than I am currently.  8)

The day is mine and I'm in the train shed for the duration.

Have a great day ya'll.

Good morning, Karl, Tom and those who look in later. At sunrise, the NH Seacoast was in the teens, but clear skies and bright sun brought it above freezing and my driveway is melting clearer as I watch.  I'm browsing the Forum in between proofreading documents for next month's Town Meeting.  I have a couple of errands to do today or tomorrow, we'll see how modeling fits in.

Tom, USPS brought your snippet of ribbon this morning, thanks.  It's finer than anything else I've found; I'll try it out on the next structure that gets to the point of windows.

James,

It is the best material I've found for HO scale screens. Let me know how it works for you.

I'm taking a break from doing window glazing to eat an early lunch.  It's 32 and bright sun in SE NH, north of James.  Driveway is about 60% clear, and That's A Good Thing.  We're still recovering from the tire blowout Wednesday, but wife has her car back, so she's happy.

After lunch, I'll peel off the backing from the glazing, and touch up the glue if/when some glazing comes loose.  I still have the door parts to cut and fit, but there's only 4 of those, after the ~50 windows that needed to be glazed.  With luck, I'll declare the glazing "done", and then glue the walls together.  I'll add the glazed windows to the assembled structure.

That's easy compared to the massive number of windows in one of my mill buildings:

Pre-cut glazing makes a huge difference!  When Tichy added that to their window castings, I was VERY GRATEFUL.  (And Don has been willing to sell me the glazing pieces for batches of windows I bought before those were part of the deal.)
