We're on a morning break from the rain, and That's A Good Thing so the dogs can go out before it starts up again.  But once again, it looks like we'll get much less than predicted.  They were calling for 2", looks like we'll get 1".  Still, we're thankful for whatever we get.  Of course, that means the grass will grow, and that means the grass will have to be cut...  A guy is coming over this afternoon to give us an estimate for resetting the large (4' x 6') granite slab that serves as our front porch.  He'll also give an estimate for redoing the paths in the back garden.  Those bother my wife, even though she doesn't go out there any more.  Oh well, it's only money...

I remember Dave Frary (a former professional lobsterman at one point) saying of a boat kit, "That's a Popeye Boat.  It would never work on the ocean."

Geesh I hope it isn't a Popeye boat Dave. Dave F just posted pictures of the same kit that he built saying it resembled his old boat.. 

Where is Dave F posting these days?  I don't remember which kit he called a 'Popeye Boat'...

Greetings from Chattanooga. I have made it to the convention two mornings so far only. I got to see the model room and was a little disappointed there wern't more. With the kids and grandkids here I'm splitting time with them as well. Tomorrow we will be hitting the train museum and taking a train ride. Saturday I have told them I am hitting the show and the vendor fair! It has been really hot, a little better today. We rented a house on the river and the grandkids are having a ball fishing. Here is a picture of one of the models I thought was well done, it only made merit.

I am headed to the 2026 NMRA National Train show in Chattanooga, TN. I am in search of the perennially illusive $16 FSM kit... or any Jordans for less than $10.
