West Quoddy head Keepers Cottage

i was wondering if any of the forum members visited and photographed the West Quoddy Head Keepers cottage in the 1950's or 1960's.


If so is it possible to have them posted here, or sent directly to me?

There is a HMS QUODDY.?? no the lighhouse keepers cottage.

Given FDR's vacation home and the 'easternmost point in the US' aspect, there should be a fair number of photos from that era.  But my parents didn't go a-vacationing thataway.  Web search finds a 'West Quoddy Head Light Keepers Association' and a Lubec Historical Society, though.

I must have viewed 1000's of photographs, but they are mostly after 2000 with a few between 1970-2000. There only a dozen between 1860-1952 in the maine Historical Society records and the Library of Congress had only a few from 1988.


There seems to be a real void of pictures between the period from 1940-1960; the timeframe which I would like to model. I've contacted the WQHLA and they will look when the site opens after 20th.


I have managed to reverse engineer most of the structure from the 1000's of images. There are areas and buildings that did exist, but with little evidence to reverse engineer from.

It's been a while since my last post and I've have not been idle. I am in the research mode trying to find all the details to the West Quoddy Head site. There has been so many revisions to the cottage it is hard to tell what is when. I am still struggling through the process and my inference engine is going at full steam. Below is a drawing os what I think the building looks "like" as of late 2014. (NB: a few small things are still missing, but that is what the challenge has been.)
