A friend is scratch building a fish cannery and is trying to figure out how to model a pile of fish.  Do any of you have a suggestion?

Thanks

Bruce Nickerson from Sea Port Modelworks uses small grain rice to model fish when detailing one of his boats. He uses a silver wash and then a blue-ish green to detail each piece.

On my Red Hook Bay layout I have little fish carts full of fish. I used Fennel seeds. I stuck them on to some sticky tape and sprayed the seeds silver. Add a few small black spots with the point of a tooth pick for eyes and you will some very realistic
fish for literally pennies. People view the carts full of fish and are always amazed when I tell them it is just fennel.

Barry...

I visited once with a guy who picked through a jar of caraway seeds for the small ones.

I think they were about half green and he used them right out of the box.
