The Bryggen, Bergen - final pictures

These are final pictures of my scratch build of the UNESCO World Heritage site - the Bryggen in Bergen, Norway. See the website to compare http://stiftelsenbryggen.no/

The site is mounted on a board 180 x 86 scale feet. The old converted warehouses are 130 scale feet in length. There are 17 in reality but I have chosen 6 to model as closely as possible from photographs. I have posed some typical european vehicles on the diorama together with some Preiser figures that I have painted up.

The Magnorail cyclist cycles around the block disappearing from view for about 30 seconds. The complete self-contained unit will form part of a town scene on my proposed new Norwegian exhibition layout. On my Cheffley layout the cyclist has managed 7.5 hours of non-stop cycling without falling over and it certainly is a conversation piece and crowd pleaser.

Wonderful work, Mike. Does the cyclist eventually wear off the paint from the road and you need to repaint it?

Hi Jeff,
It will wear a small groove in the paint but it looks like the normal wear and tear you find on roads caused by tyres.
