Frank,
Layout looks outstanding !!! Guessing 155 on the structure count....
Tommy

Tom,

Thanks for your kind words. Actually there 119 structures currently in the four towns. Seven more towns are on the layout and several of the buildings will be large. There is a steel mill complex that takes up a large piece of real estate, but very few buildings. This area is next after the photo shoot.

Atta Boy Frank..... 8)

Greg,

Thanks for stopping by. I started a guess on the number of structures in the four towns. Look at the prior post. Enter and have fun. BTW, it is a big number.

Frank / Erieman

Will get in on the fun before the deadline. Are you counting bridges as structures or just wood or masonry buildings?

Greg,

The actual of buildings only in the four towns is 119. Many more to go. Thanks for stopping by.

Grateful looking modeling.  I didn't realize that you had 4 towns!

Curt,

Thanks for your kind words. Actually there are eleven towns on the layout.

I'm guessing 176 in all 4 towns.

Jan,

Wow, that would be a lot of buildings, Probably no room for track! As I mentioned earlier, there are 119 currently on the layout, with seven more towns to go. Stay tuned.

Hi Frank:

Great photos. I especially like the top one. Very cool.

Thanks again:

Karl

Karl,

Thank you for your kind words. I also like the close up photos of many of the structures. As they say, the devil is in the details. Thank you again for stopping by. More pics soon.

I will go with 89

Robert, You should nave known better. I have seen all the buildings on your layout and the density. How many buildings do you now have on the layout? Has to be in the 100's. Beautiful job, my friend. Looking forward to Lou's visit. Thanks for stopping by.

Thom,

Getting ready for Lou's visit. I talked to him about the camera and he does not think that MR would want something like this. BOOHOO. I still plan on taking a video and I can always post it on Youtube. I'll let you know.

My guess is 112 structures.

John,

You are the closest, but since you have been here, i need to disqualify you. Very good quess by the way. It is hard to believe that the structure count is as high as it is. If I included bridges, you would probably be spot on. The number is 119.

You have a point, my visits do give me insider information.  It is amazing how many structures, trees, and other details that it takes to make a layout look complete. You have done a great job and Lou will surely get some great pictures.  And when he returns in a few years, for the second photo shoot, it will be even better.  Did you ever read the book "Who moved my Cheese".  I just had to do it! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Day One of the Photo shoot is over. What great day. Lou is a great guy to work with and really gets into each scene. And his wife Cheryl is equally great. The work as a team to create and execute. Very exciting to see the process and results. Tomorrow will be shooting a video of the layout. Wonderful experience. I'm dragging so i'll post some behind the scenes shots that I took in the next day or two. Need to back at my exercise routine.

Frank,

Mr. Sassi certainly has a good subject in which to photograph, hopefully Lou's pictures will come out as good as yours. Soon you will be able to frame the MR cover and mount it in the train room, did they give you a publication date? I would like to be in-country when it comes out.

Thanks guys for your comments. Lou and his wife Cheryl work as a wonderful team. I had a blast. Lou took 14 photos plus quite a bit of video. As Mark mentioned, Lou kept seeing more things he wanted to photograph. I can tell you it is a lot of work. Here are a couple of photos while he is at work. Yesterday after we finished photographing my layout, I took him to see a couple other layouts nearby. He submits the preliminary photos to Model Railroader and if they accept them, then Lou schedules a trip out here to shoot them. He is working two years out, so it will be a while before he gets back. I told him to back in four years to take final photos of the rest of my layout.

Here are some pics of Lou and his wife at work.
