I just bought this little railcar/truck on Ebay from Australia. I think it might be by Fujiyama/Fromar but that's just a hunch. Does anyone have any ideas? Cheers

Barry,

I checked all my resources and have no definitive answer. My person guess is either Balboa or Kemtron. Balboa was only the Importer but Kemtron was a Builder and Importer. Kemtron made the solenoid type switch machine back in the early 60's. We referred to them as "slam bangs".

Thanks Tom.
A friend on Trainline.com thinks it's probably an import by Pacific Pike.  He felt it should have a trailer, although the seller only listed the railcar and a spare motor, which is fortunate as the one fitted is a non runner.    I did a bit of Google research and it might have been made by Fujiyama.  When I get it I'll try to remember and do a rebuild photo diary.  Greetings from Shakespeare country. Barry,
Try posting a picture and ask for help on the Yahoo Brass Collectors group. I'm betting someone over their might have some feedback.

I'd be interested to know what you find out.
