Hi,

At the open house this past Saturday 6/18, I was speaking with George on the possibility of a kit for 2016.  He is still not sure if he will be making kit.  He did show me a new scratchbuilt diorama that may become this years kit.  He built it for a spot  on his layout in the Mt. Allen area.  It was a neat diorama with a stone building and some board by board structures.  No laser cut or siding material in the structures.  I thought that it was a great little scene that would make a nice kit if he were to do a kit.  He would need to build another version of the model based on what he would be giving in a kit using the actual templates.

Let George know your thoughts on whether or not he should do a kit this year.  The possibility of no more FSM kits is currently a reality.

How about...... Release of older kits: just the templates and castings, no strip wood, clapboard, shingles, windows,  ect. Would that interest scratchbuilders? Do you think there is a market for something like this?

It could work for his wooden buildings but the stone ones would have to include the plaster walls. I eor one would be interested in that, might be able to afford one then.

Hi All:

I'd sure like to see A new FSM kiit for this year. As you all know I love building them. Andy, George usually makes his stone walls from metal and they are very nicely done and paint up quite well. check out my Sewall's Foundry and Swakhammer's Welding. Both have FSM stone walls.

It's always fun to speculate on the if, when, and what George might do for an after retirement kit.  George if you do wake up one morning and decide to do another kit don't change a thing. Just implement another great design.  Oh and if you decide that you would rather work on the layout - I'm good with that too. Retirement means doing what you and the boss want to do!

Any thing George decides to do will be wonderful. After all, every day is Saturday!

Sorry Karl, my mistake. I just always thought the stone walls were plaster. Someday when a rich uncle passes and leaves me a bunch of bucks  I might be able to get one. Bad thing is I don't have a rich uncle.

Hi Andy:

I did forget. Yahuda's is, I believe, the only FSM kit that had plaster walls. Sorry bout that.
