I decided to do another Challenge Build just to have something to work on during the Hurricane, so I looked thru some of my unbuilt kits and found this one.  So here we go again.

The first pictures are the parts and instructions.  The instructions are on line and have to be downloaded and printed.

I added bracing to the walls, almost following the plan, change some because some of the walls are very weak.  I don't like to try and cut 1/8 bracing with a razor blade, so I use this saw blade.  This is from Micro Mark and comes in a set of 3 blades and a handle.  It is like a No. 11 blade with the teeth on the back side.  I have used these for a long time and really like them.

I painted the walls with Floquil G.W. Cream and the doors, windows and trim with Floquil Socony Red.

As I was starting to install the doors and windows, I remembered a build quite some time ago by Candy.
It was a Truck Service Building and she didn't like the way the Mens and Women Restrooms were located.  She moved the Mens room to the back and put up a small fence .by the door.
I added another door around the corner and that will be the Mens.  The ;ladies will stay in the front.  Now I need to find some signs for Men and Women.

Thanks to Candy for this idea.  Now off to search for some signs.

I remember building this kit for Jimmy when it first came out.  My only complaint was I thought the garage roof was too small, I think he made it larger after that.  Here's a pic of my build.

Jeff, I remember your build of this kit.

The roof isn't any bigger but it slopes from front to back in this kit

Butty John,

Thanks for checking this build.  I guess I have some time and hate to do nothing.

All of the signs are now applied to the walls, I even found some "MEM" and "WOMEN" signs for the restroom doors.  I have not been able to find a sign that shows the Mens Room around the corner.

The Billboard is assembled and needs some walkway boards yet.  I have attached 2 chains to the hanging sign and am working on the post to hold the sign.  Need to build it, paint it and attach the hanging sign.

All of the Castings have been primed and painted, even the Vent on the 20 ft. long pipe ?

Stay tuned for the wall assembly.

Nice build.  The gas pumps that come with the kit are those Jimmy's own castings or can the be ordered from another vendor.

Mike, Thanks for looking in on this build

The Castings were all in a bag with a card from BEST (Bollinger Edgerly Scale Trains) I found it on their web site and the part no. is 4-0147
