It's been a while since I started building the Weltyk Marine diorama (based on the FOS Scale kit) in Oct 2015. At that time videos were posted on YouTube showing all my build steps I went through to get the diorama completed. It was a long and tedious process where tried to post a video each day showing all my good and bad day's progress. Some of it was painful and some was very enlightening and when I finished in March 2016 it was time to get on with other builds.

Sometime after I completed the diorama had to delete all the videos from YouTube because the channel was getting too big and too confusing. So over the past few months I have managed to re-upload all the videos to a dedicated channel where they can live standalone and not confused by other non-related videos.

The YouTube Channel can be accessed at:

I took the opportunity to create a new set of Playlists that can help the viewer focus on a topic of a section of the diorama build process. There are some 268 videos and the playlists help navigating through the channel much easier. Some of the playlists are,

Scratchbuilding a Gantry Crane,

Buoys and Things for the dock,

... are just some of the 40+ playlists you can enjoy.

They can be boring at times, there are out of frame shots, bad focus and can be VERY addicting to watch. Pace yourself and you will find some amazing ideas or what not to do in your own dioramas. I'm no expert, just a good problem solver.

Think back to the days when you would follow your dad to the garage and watch him try to fix something. When he hit his thumb or his head, he cursed under his breath and when it was completed he would shout with joy and take you to the ice cream shop. You were more intrigued watching him do stuff then doing your homework. What happened in the garage stayed in the garage, except your fond memories of "helping" your dad. This is how these videos were made - learning by watching and then going out and trying it for yourself.

Get watching, the journey is more interesting than you can believe.

Thanks Marty , I'm going to watch them again this week . Love the music that the first one starts with , would that be Lee Ritenour or Acoustic Alchemy , Earl Klugh maybe ?

Janbouli, thanks for dropping and commenting. I am thrilled that you are going to watch them again.

The music is comes from the license free YouTube or iMovie audio libraries. The first intro music is a cut from "Peach Cobbler" from the iMovie iLife sound effects.

There other audio track that I use a lot (i.e. in the channel trailer) is "Calypso Beach Walk" (from YouTube) by Doug Maxwell/Media Right Productions.

I hope this helps.

I was going to start this post by saying "I love hash", but that did not seem right somehow. Enough of that. :-)

A couple years ago I decided to film every step of building a diorama. This included the good and bad of the whole process. I went into gory detail and bored the heck of everybody that watched it. Anybody who spent the 10's of hours watching every one of the 260+ video must be insane or really wanted to experience the effort without doing the effort. Kidding aside - there is a lot of information recorded in the videos and once you watch them you will never want or need to watch them again.

So why re-posting it here?

There a new forum members or guests that may have not had the lovely experience of burning all their retina cells to a crisp. This is their chance to jump directly over to YouTube and become one of the YouTube zombies (Halloween theme. :P). As an added bonus twice a week I post a re-hashed craftsman tip for the quick relief of the boredom of watching the Weltyk Marine diorama build.

Good luck ;D
