Thought from my experience up in the panhandle that the expression is "mo betta'"  :D

Chip,

You are correct about the Florida cracker speak. However, my mother is reading this and my degree was in English.

Just saying. By the way Mom passed in 2004 but she would say in her Southern Illinois speech to me, "Say it correctly or it isn't fitting and proper". ;D ;D ;D

Here is another picture of the old vs new scenery.

Time for a quick Diet Pepsi. Back in a drink or two.

I also started to finish the scenery along the back and against the photo back drop. I believe you can get the concept from the pictures without a bunch of narrative.

New scenery at edge of road and base of building/photo backdrop. Old scenery by the fence.

White glue at base of photo and edge of roadway.

Very light sprinkling of green ground material.

While glue is still tacky, a second layer of scenic material is added.

The extra material on the road is just brushed up on the new material.

I added a little scenery material to the area between the track and road. I then installed the fence. The fence is very dirty but it doesn't show all that much in the picture.

I glued some brown ground cover between the tracks and then glued the fuel platform in place . I used weights to hold the platform level until the glue was thoroughly dry (over night).

To get some brown scenery material under the platform I cut a piece of paper at an angle. I added the material and tapped the side to dust the material under the platform.

I then added the two track gates.

You can see that the scenery is now between the front fence and the track in the lower left of the picture.

This time I installed the fence, weathered it in place with medium Brown stain from Hunterline and then added the scenery.

To be honest is was easier to do it this way then to add the fence after the scenery is in place.

Hopefully you can see then rust and pipe weathering in this ground level view.

Done for the day and not only that, I'm not doing anymore either.

See ya later in the week.

Very nice modeling. The patina on the pipes is right on the mark.

Backing up a few photos or days, what is the approximate volume of the storage tank that's scaled over the Tortise machine: in 1:1, how many gallons of fuel would that rascal hold? Driving uptown this afternoon I noticed a local oil dealer has a similar tank and the barrier ring around it is three cinder block courses high, There must be a formula out there that says how high the "ring" should be in relation to the volume of the tank. My quick fix if I was faced with this problem would be to look for something cylindrical like the cardboard center of the roll of tape in one of your photos and face it with something replicating concrete or cinder blocks. But who am I to tell the master how to do anything?
Working on my second million. I gave up on the first.

Excellent Tom. Is the color difference in the scenery due to different colors used, or is it the fading after 2 years.  Not sure from the photo's , but I think I like the older faded colors a bit better.
I love photo's, don't we all.

Hi Tom:

It just looks better every time I see it.

Wow Tom!  I go away to this Expo thingie for a few days and you've made some impressive progress.  The updated scenery is really looking good, and the whole fuel complex is superb.  It looks like it'll be 2018 before I can get down your way to check out things in person...ugh!
