Yesterday I had an opportunity to visit The Pennsy and install the two lamp posts.

Here is where it will be located, next to and above Tunnel Hill.

And, here it is in place.

The apartment is in place and the Cutler's will add the scenery.

The LEDs are to bright and another resister will be added in series with the dropping resister to dim the post lights.

Yep a couple  of beacons in the night. ;D The scene looks great. I'm thinking using those lites needs experimenting anyway to get just the correct amount of briteness.

I agree with Greg.  That is an awesome addition.

The apartment looks good.  I note there is only one parking space for a three story apartment.  The tenants must be in real competition for that space.  I suspect the local county commission's zoning board looked to the zoning ordinance in Tahope County for guidance on the number of spaces per unit.  Maybe the tenants all ride bicycles and the space out front is for the landlord.

I saw a bicycle chained to a lamp post in front of our local Winn-Dixie yesterday and it reminded me that I used to ride my bike the four blocks from my house to elementary school every day back in the early 50's.  The bicycle shed was behind the school and at least one hundred bikes were parked in it each morning.  None of them were locked and I don't remember a single bicycle theft.  I guess those were the days. . . . .

Mr. Tom, Kris and I really have a good time when you and the Babe come by. The light post really look good. After discussing with you about the brightness I did add a resistor, but it was still a little bright so I added one more. Now Kris said it was perfect. Thanks again for all your help.

Lynn,

Thanks for checking in. Using the extra resistors will help dim the lights.

Greg,

Thank you. We'll need to make a trip North to the Pennsy one of these Saturdays.

Judge,

I too remember those "theft free days".  I used to ride my Schwinn 10 speed to the Rexall Drug Store at Western Way Plaza. I'd leave my unlocked bike in the front, have a Vanilla Coke and then go down to Landis Stone Hardware to buy BB's.

Now, about the one car driveway. We are talking hard times on the Pennsy. You are correct in only the apartment manager had the privilege of parking in the space. The residents either had no cars or parked on the street or rode bikes. 8) 8)
