All I can say is WOW!

Thanks Curt, sometimes I say the same thing, like, "WOW, that actually worked", not having tried it before.

OK, I will say it too  "WOW, that really did work".

Thanks Jim.

On another thread, I was given a challenge. Bob Santos had done a shorter box that had been knocked open on one corner with nails exposed, in a larger scale. So I made one in HO. I used a .009" drill bit and .008" bronze wire for the nails which were painted Testor's rubber color. The box is made up of 2x6 for the bottom and 2x8 for the sides. The holes were drilled in the one corner that will show the nails sticking out. The box is typical assembly, but making the ends square here is critical.

Here are a few shots of one detail I added to the box. I used a 1mm bolt to replace the plastic shaft of the Ticky Train jack, with a nut (I filed down the head of the bolt to represent the top of the jack). I drilled a .022" hole in the side of the nut to accept a brass rod for a handle. Apparently, the unit seized up long ago, was discarded and tossed in the box, where it still resides. I want to add a flew more small details inside the box, so it isn't entirely finished.

Last picture for tonight. I finished up the detail and painted a valve casting from Shapeways. I placed it on the scenery, but it isn't set in, and may not even be the final location.

Superb Tony .

Thank you. My grand daughter Sarah, lives in the Netherlands. My step son (her father) said he thinks he will visit her sometime later this year. Beautiful country.

Thanks Karl. Just finished up a few details, boy, these little things take some time.

It is but it is amazing to watch an artist create a masterpiece. Moreover it is fantastic that you take the time to detail how you accomplish each part of the whole. I see a single stall engine house in my layouts future. Not sure I can get anywhere near the detail but sure understand better what it is going to take and have a blue print to follow. Thanks

Sorry I haven't been able to get anything posted for a while, but, I wanted to get your thoughts. I painted, if you can call it painting, all these resin, and one metal, castings using only soft pastel chalks. To me it gives a feel of dust laden shelving that isn't used that often. I kinda like it, but wanted some views of others. In some cases, like the bench, I will be adding some extra details. These all come from Sierra West Scale Models if I remember right. Keep in mind, these are blown up pretty large compared to the actual size. The last one shows an actual size shot for comparison.
