Anyone use this stuff? I'm kinda liking it as a starter concrete color.

rpdylan

looks good, where did you get it?

It looks a little dark to me, but of course concrete comes in a wide variety of tones on the basic light grey color.

I've had good luck putting -a very small amount- of olive into light grey, because the Holy Driftwood stain had a bit of an olive tint to it.

Might be a good place to join Dave and post our fave concrete color recipes. 👍🏻

My concrete recipe: Start with grey primer - then I use three different shades of grey chalk to really add the color.  My artist friend taught me that nature always colors with three different shades of a color. I think the texture of the chalk makes as much difference as the colors in making it look realistic. That's my story, or recipe, until I find one I like better. ;)

My recipe consist of base coat obtain by mixing folkart battleship grey with a small amount of folkart ochre.
When dry, ad some AI solution here and there, unbleach white titanium paint drybrush
then a wash of black and umber oil paint and finally chalk... many step, but a good result for me.

For this abutment, I sprayed the whole piece with Rustoleum Camo Khaki, then sponged on some acrylic light grey, followed by applications of Bragdon weathering powders to represent rust and dirt.

Yes, very nice Matt. Thanks. The Camo Khaki is a good idea. I will have to try that out. I have also been warming up to Tamiya Deck Tan. I saw that in a YouTube video by Kathy Millatt.
