Here are the containers with the Part A and Part B. Smooth-On makes a number of different mold materials and resins - this is the Star 35 product.

Correction to this post I had originally said this was Star 35 mold material it is Star 30 sorry for the typo. I changed it in the original post.  Rich thank you for bringing it to my attention.

John,

No problem, and thanks for the excellent tutorial.  I am going to try making a few of these molds, now that I have your attention !!

Let us know how the mold making goes.

Today, I started my day by putting together all of the subassemblies that I had on three work benches to do a test fit and my first real visualization of what this monster diorama was going to look like.

John,

Wow, what an awesome scene you have going there. Looks like you will need some muscle to get it to the layout.

Well done my friend.

Here is another view after some more Delabarre subassemblies were added.

A couple notes: The dark gray of the tower and clapboard siding on Delabarres is the primer - it will be lighter gray when the finish coat is applied.

The lower wall assembly for Delabarres managed to dry or cure after the clamps were let loose so that it was out of square. I could clamp it back in position when I glued it to the main assemble but I didn't want to build stress into the assembly so it went back to the layout bench for some better bracing.

After the dry fit I decided that the ramp to the lower loading dock on the left side of Delabarres required more space so I decided to add onto the diorama on my bench and cut away a little more rock on the layout. Pictures of the layout change will follow. I need to add the material to the diorama, tomorrow.

Thanks Tom - If it gets any bigger I may need to start designing crane hooks for it.

Here is a picture of the lower assembly back on the layout table and clamped back into position.

Here is a picture of the cross brace - triangles are the most stable - that I added to keep this subassembly square.

Here is a picture of the original baseboard for the diorama in position on the layout. I need to add about 6 inches on the left side of the Delabarre main structure.

Here is a closeup of the area being removed. About half way through side 4 when the saw found a screw and the battery died.
I will finish the cut the next time I get up there. I know what I need to add to the diorama base.

Spectacular, John. An engineering tour de force as well as a modeling masterpiece.

John,
That is quite a project you have going there.  I think it will be an outstanding scene when finished.

Looking terrific, John!

I'm still trying to work out the unknowns in your master plan (unknowns for me), but I'm enjoying guessing!

Cheers, Mark.
