I have yet to decide how I want the garage doors to be set, open or closed. I cut the bottom off one door and will glue it in place, partially open.

The door on the left is held in place with Scotch Tape until the decision is made.

One of the additions I made to the store front was the addition of an additional window frame.

In the photo below, interior view, notice the corner glass has no frame support.

To correct this I used a piece scale 2 X 2, painted it silver and glued it in the corner. The  2 X 2 was as close to the kit frame as I could get.

This makes the corner look better than the plain corner glass.

Darryl, if you are still following along perhaps this end/corner frame could be added to the center wall section.

A few signs were added to the walls in the garage bay area.

The four walls were then glued to the base.

The center main interior wall was test fit. I measured and then drew a light pencil line on the office side of the wall. Just below this line I drilled a small hole in the wall. This hole is for the lighting wires and high enough so they can't be seen when viewing the model interior.

I then glued the interior wall in place.

A piece of blue trim fits at the top of this wall. The top 1/2 inch of this wall is also the exterior wall of the garage bay.

The blue trim was glued in place and I used clothes pins to hold in until the glue dried.

It's time for a beverage break. Normally I'd tell you I'm gonna grab a Diet Pepsi. However, I've decided to wean myself off all sodas. Yes, Cousin Brucie, this also includes the Diet Pepsi.

Since January 1, 2019, I've been drinking two bottles of water for every one Diet Pepsi.

So, time for a bottle of water.

The top of this wall needs to be touched up with blue paint.

When getting ready to paint, be sure you don't have any paint on your fingers. Don't ask how I know, I'll show you. :'(

A Q-tip wet with Floquil Diosol solved this problem.

I then finished painting the top of the wall. :P

I assembled the three parts of the front awning. The awning is made up of three parts laminated together. The middle piece is larger than the other two, this piece goes in the middle.

I painted the middle piece with Floquil Reefer Orange and the top and bottom were spray painted with the ACE Gloss White.

When dry the three parts were glued together. I sprayed a piece of 180 grit sandpaper with Floquil Rail Brown. When dry I cut a piece to fit on top of the awning and glued it in place.

Have I ever mentioned that I like things on the level?

I love that roof layering -- very retro.

And, good for you for dialing down the sodas. I dropped diet drinks of all kinds just under four years ago. Noticeable positive physiological effects and I don't miss it at all.

Some of the details of the kit.

The large "GULF" sign is double sided and will be hung in front of the station.

Some parts shelves and the office back wall.

On Darryl's pilot Sinclair station you can see a sign on the office shelves that reads, "Genuine Stolen Parts." This sign wasn't inclued on the sign sheet or I would have used it. Nice little touch of humor.

Vince,

Thanks for the positive feedback. I love the awning look with the orange trim, very GULF like.

I've been planning on cutting back the Diet Pepsi for several months and did do it for several months a few years ago.

Reading Bob stopped well over a year so now it's my turn. The Babe and children have been on me as well.

As much as I like the Diet Pepsi, I don't think I'll miss it.
