As promised, I'm starting a build thread for my Schwarz Foundry, a tribute to Tom Schwarz, for my 2019 Challenge Build.

To start with here are the open box pictures.  It should be noted that this FSM kit is one of the, "extremely rare", extremely valuable orange box kits. I asked George about the orange box and he told me that it was a mistake from his box supplier.  They used the wrong color stock.  He replaced the boxes with yellow boxes but a few kits were sold before the switch. I may sell this  box on ebay. ;)  If any collectors out there want to make me an offer before I do that send me a PM. :o

As you can see the castings made it through the paint booth before I remembered to take pictures.

Here is what is left in the box after the castings have been pulled out for the paint booth.  I prepare my castings in batches so I have three FSM kits along with some extra castings all prepped and primed.

Here are the detail castings all primed and ready for the build.

Here is a picture of the box with a correct yellow box that I pulled off the shelf for comparison.

Here is the roof sign that George shipped with the kit. A little computer work and a printer and we will transform Sewall's Foundry to Schwarz Foundry.

With that let the building begin.  Thank you Dave and Curt and those that follow for following along.

I'll be following, John.

Another of my favourite FSM kits - and one that seems to occasionally come up for a half decent price.  It may yet find a home on Tellynott!

Cheers, Mark.

Following along , I hope I have time in between all the following to do a build myself.
I love photo's, don't we all.

I've never been able to find one of these kits for a reasonable price- I'm jealous!  Looking forward to following along on this build

Great choice!  I built this a long, long time ago (it's packed away in a box and in desperate need of some repairs/refurbishment).  It was one of my all time favorite builds.   ;D
