Tom,

You building it a the Apiaries?

If so, can't wait to see the bees you create :)

Seriously, nice little kit, interesting subject.

Watching closely.

Jim,

Sorry for the delay in my response. Yes, it will be built as an apiarie with HO scale bees. I think one already bit me. No, wait, that was a #11 blade.

When I get a new kit, I always have the signs copied for personal use later if needed. The signs I add to the walls of structures are always the copies. I file the original in a "kit sign" file/folder.

The original is on the top.

I used Floquil Earth in a thinned wash for the walls. Thinned to the point the Light Gray Hunterline A&I shows through the paint.

I used Floquil Depot Buff and thinned it as I did for the walls. The Depot Buff was sprayed on the doors and windows. The corner trim was painted in the same manner as the walls using the Depot Buff.

I dipped the doors and windows in Light gray A&I and set aside to dry.

Canopy glue was added to the door and windows.

Mark,

Thank you, these colors worked out very well for this small kit. I did consider white for the walls but I have plenty of white structures on the layout.

I added all the windows and glued the four walls together.

The exterior rafters came next. Doug does provide a template for cutting the rafters. More on this later.

I chose to cut the front rafters free hand. Meaning I glued them in place and then trimmed them to fit - shown below.

More in a few.
