Morning, all.

Very foggy here this morning.  Supposed to get up to 56 degrees later, very warm for nearly Christmas.

Having my favorite breakfast, pie.  My wife would say there's more Cool Whip than pie, but yeah.   :D

Started a kit yesterday, will start a thread later.  I have a Ring doorbell I might install today as well since it's so warm out.

Let's see if I can post a pic.

Good Morning All,

The wife and daughter will be galavanting around today which means frequent phone calls while I am in the train room today.

Nothing else planned for today.

Nice motive power line up Jeff.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning.

I just got back from a trip to the landfill and ran the vacuum, etc.  If I finish wrapping a few things I'll be all set for the big day.

That should leave the afternoon free for modeling, fingers crossed.

Afternoon all,

Just settling down to wrap a few presents for the better half.  We're going to a party this afternoon/evening so no workbench time for me today.  Hopefully tomorrow.

Have a great one!

I heard this (again) last night on NHPR's folk show.  This always makes me think of Dave Frary:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYFI6csmsi4

(Speaking of whom, has anyone heard from the King of Scenery lately?)

Good Morning or Good Afternoon, depending on your time zone. We had a great rain day over the past 24 hours. Rain is something sorely needed out here in the desert. I have been here for over 45 years and have never experienced a summer so dry as this past one. The UV rays were strong enough to effect some of the desert vegetation.
We are celebrating Christmas this evening with the family. Plently of cooking, presents to be unwrapped and some final yard work and wiring to be completed. Had to replace a manifold of water solenoids that had been leaking ever so slightly. The dry summer also effected our water usuage and water bills. Your don't want to know what they were, trust me. The price we pay for a green lawn.
We wish everyone a joyous and healthly holiday. I hope to post some pics in the coming days. Working on installing led lighting in many of my city buildings. Something like 60 structures. Five are done!

Best wishes to one and all.

Dave,

That's too funny.  Unfortunately, too many rules at the landfill now, attendants everywhere, no scavenging or you get arrested.  Oh, for the good old days.  When IBM was leaving town and cleaning out I got two heavy metal roll around shelf carts, a whole lot of 3/4 exterior plywood pallets made with treated 4x4's all screwed together.  Nostalgia...

Rail and Tie

Two more days before we throw on the feed bag and go for it!
Gotta go down the mountain today and fight the hoards for some last minute groceries. We are having Roasted Turkey, Smoked and baked maple glazed spiral cut ham (like candy!), Fried Bacon Perogies, Mashed potatoes, sour cabbage rolls, Stuffing, Home Smoked Salmon, fresh baked puff pastry cheese sticks, parsley on the side (for a veggie to keep our doctor happy), and from scratch angel food cake with whipped cream and berries, Creme Brule (because you have all the egg yolks left over from the angel food cake!) ... and then there is the usual baked goods: cookies, gingerbread blobs, maple butter tarts, etc. etc.   Yes, the Deliberator is ready on standby downstairs...

Good thing there are 5 of us for Christmas dinner this year.  Hopefully I survive and will see you all on the other side of Christmas Day!

Merry Christmas to you all!
