Oil bunker diorama

Thank you Bob and Thom.  It has been awhile since I last posted on this particular diorama.  Well, I have never been one to let a sleeping dog lie.  Not many model railroaders are, come to think of it.  How many times have we decided our layouts were not big enough, or, hey, I could put in a new branch line over here?

Here is one of my sleeping dogs.  I was just not satisfied with the look of this structure, sooooooo....

Added or changed:

Soldered brass rod hand rails.  Ladder attitude changed from a leaner to being fastened.  No longer the hinged spout.  Moved the little crane assembly from the lower support to become the actual arm for the new way of getting oil from the tank to the loco.
Made a brass and plastic pulley for the chain, along with a hose.  Now it can be swung out to supply the oil thirst of the locomotives.
Also, as I am going to be placing it between service tracks, I decided it would be a good idea to be able to supply from both sides of the bunker.
So, I built a new supply line from the bottom of the tank, out to both sides.  Added a new valve, walkway and identical post.  Now I have to build another pulley, ladder, add chain, supply hose, etc...

Am waiting for the NBW's.  Once this is done, I am going to be forced to start on the sandhouse, along with finishing the thread on the turntable.  Then the water tank, the enginehouse, the....whew!   I have a lot of dogs!

Anyway, here are some pics of the new changes as they stand now on the oil bunker.  Everyone says "more pictures," so here they are!  Enjoy!! 











Here is the opposite side as of now.  Today, I will be making the pulley, handrails and hose.

Good morning everyone.   As I stated a few days ago, I am on a four week vacation.  Haven't had one in three years!  It feels somewhat odd actually.
Anyway, not many travel plans.  Am going to play catch up and put the finishing touches on a lot of the structures I have already built.  I told you earlier in this thread that the remodeling of the oil bunker would allow it to sit between two lead tracks and would be able to service locos from both sides.  I have finished all the NBW's and the service hoses.  Here are the pics.





Next, I am going to finish off the sandhouse.
When it is finished, I am going to start my engine service module.  On it will be, eventually, everything needed to service steam locomotives.  Maybe critters also.
