Morning All,

Last day of work before I leave for Pittsburgh for the National Narrow Gauge Convention early tomorrow. I'm looking forward to reconnecting with some train buddies...anyone here going?

Last night, I finished my "musts" on the layout...All of the HOn30 track is clean, extra ties replaced and feeders dropped. The layout room, in general, is clean and neat and ready for the next phase of construction. I inventoried my Micro Engineering bridge parts and made sure I have what I need (ME will be a vendor at the show). The remaining portion of the layout will be HOn3, so tonight I'll check my inventory of track and make sure I don't need to order more...nothing worse than getting rolling and running out of something that isn't immediately available.

Busy day today-so I'm off and running. Have a great day!

Mornin' all,

Another regular work day for me. My dad headed back to PA around 5:30 AM (trying to avoid Knoxville traffic).

This morning I had the first sustained power outage since I moved into the house in mid May.  It lasted for about 2 hours.  Since the local electric utility does not appear to have an outage reporting phone number nor a website link I decided to go out and see if I could tell how large an area was affected. It was a decent sized area (200+ homes?).  It was caused by a car that knocked down a utility pole so they shut down power to the whole area. I may have to revisit/reprioritize my power outage plan. I have a couple inverter generators (2000 and 3500 watt) but I have not yet installed a whole house transfer switch for generator input. I guess I will get going with that soon.

The drywall guys were back out yesterday afternoon. I would guess the finish guys have one more session before it's ready for a very light texture and then painting.

Any change in habits or rituals can be unsettling. It seems the later in life you attempt them, the more difficult they become. Need to change my AM rituals to get more accomplished during the day. Almost like going through withdrawal.
Working on my second million. I gave up on the first.

Morning all,

Only one thing on my calendar this week and I managed to screw it up.  The 10 o'clock dentist appointment I had this morning was actually a 9 o'clock appointment.  D'oh!  They took me anyway when I showed up at 9:30.

After lunch it'll either be yard work or workbench time.  Depends on what the weather does.

Have a great one!

Afternoon check it...not attending the NNGC and to those that are going, have a great time and post photos. Had the windshield replaced yesterday on the Honda Pilot. Picked up supplies in the cities for the candy shop too since we were 1 hour south of the farm. Tree colors are starting to show. Been cooler here but warmer weather returns this week.

Test fit of trestle bents.  I have some shimming to do, but it does look like a trestle bridge:
