Good morning.

The door is open, coffee pot is hot and ready, lots of hot water for tea and hot chocolate.  The refrigerator is stocked up with Diet Pepsi.  Blueberry pancakes this morning with maple syrup.  Scrambled eggs for those allergic to blueberries, and bacon on the side.

After spending the last three days working outside trimming the lawn and pruning trees my old bones are aching.  Did I mention mowing pasture with the brush hog and taking down about 600 feet of temporary electric fence from in the pasture as well?  I'll be resting up today, weather here is overcast with a high struggling to reach fifty degrees.

If I can find the energy I'll be working on some freight cars.  If not, I'll be taking some naps...

I hope everyone has a safe and productive day!

Happy Birthday Tom (ACL1504) and Pam!

Thanks for the breakfast, Jerry.  Finished my morning walk, ate breakfast and now it's time to clean up. Maybe a little workbench time before lunch.  After lunch I may pressure wash the driveway and sidewalks.

Have a great one!

Good Morning Folks;

So we have another birthday boy, Happy Birthday Tom. The TV acted up this morning so I spent time getting it reset, today's TV's operate a lot more like a computer and appears you need to be an expert, they call that progress. Today we start getting ready for upcoming cruise on Sunday. I need to get a haircut, other then that nothing new here. Have a great day everyone.

While reading Jerry's post above, I was reminded of an amusing tale I overheard on the commuter boat I used to take in Boston. The gentleman who told the story watched his dog get out one rainy night. Having no fence around his yard, he instinctively grabbed the dog's collar and headed into the rain to bring the truant dog back. Without looking, he grabbed the collar that triggered the buried electric dog fence they had recently installed. He got quite a jolt when he crossed the buried wire with the collar in his wet hands.
I hope none of you have any shocking experiences today.

Morning,

Happy birthday Tom.

We have had no rain for a few weeks and the forecast is a dry one for the next two weeks. The colour on the leaves are nice and bold.

Well, it wasn't a shocking experience to start the day, but it was unpleasant.  I got up early because I had a dr appt (preliminary measurements for cataract surgery).  The iPhone said "Internet is out."  So I checked the router, then went down and rebooted the fiber modem.  Well, that didn't fix the internet, but it did break the connected phone line.  After a couple of calls with the internet support ("They hung an update last night, and that seems to knock fixed IP addresses off-line") that got fixed, but the phone is still down.

But anyway, I'm back from the eye dr office, and since the internet is working, I can live without the phone.  (Mostly we get spam calls, but that's the number registered for dr offices, etc, so occasionally there are real people on the phone to talk to.)  Back down to the train room in a bit, I'm working on a 3D printed coal hopper.

Update:  We finally got the phone line working.  Talking to the local Breezeline business support guy, turns out he's a model railroader!

Happy Birthday to Tom & the Babe!! (I guess I'm two days older)...

I've basically completed the land grab on my son's bedroom. When he returns from Stetson U. at Thanksgiving, he will find that he has been relocated  ;D

My new space has 3 uninterrupted walls 78" x 153" with the third (parallel to 78") measuring in at 93"...much better to work with. I'm looking at different shapes and footprints to best utilize the space with my givens & druthers.

His (new) room is still filled with my crap, ranging from styrofoam and Homasote scraps, stacks of magazines, etc but I'll be well under way by the time he's back. Knowing him - he'll probably walk into his new room, crack open his laptop, and never say a word about it. He's a pretty stoic character and it's actually probably a nicer room. 8)
