Howdy,

Yesterday was not overly productive on the layout building, but I got the helix support columns built/installed.  Now I need to install the 2x6 beams across the top of the helix support columns, and then install the 3/4 upper return loop sub-roadbed to stabilize the whole thing. Since I made a trip to Lowes for joist hangers I decided to go ahead and buy the wire needed for the main track power bus runs (500ft each of red/black 12ga solid core) and layout lighting power bus (500ft each of yellow/orange 12ga stranded).

I'm hoping to finish the basic helix support structure today. Building the actual helix is many months off.

Morning,

Crazy amount of progress Doug!

Morning all,

What Doug considers not being overly productive is 100x what I would accomplish on a good day.  ;D

Day two the family visit. Cold outside and the forecast is for rain so there probably won't be any rail fanning today.  :(

Have a great one!

Hello everyone, it's supposed to be another sunny day in the 70's here in the desert. While I definitely appreciate the nice weather after growing up in Ohio, it would sure be nice if we got a little rain- it's been four months since the last time the desert got wet.

I agree with Bob, Doug is really kicking butt with his benchwork progress.

Morning all,

Last Saturday of the year. Here's a pic for Mr. Critter. Here in Cleveland, our little Plymouth is pulling No. 62 onto the turntable. We also have a trackmobile that can be used. No. 62 is the famous 'Death Car,' a Nickel Plate coach that in 1943 was involved in a horrific accident. Look it up if you're interested.

Cloudy and seasonal in SE NH.  Rain coming tomorrow (I'd rather have snow.)  More work on windows today on the first Lamson structure.

I'm quietly enjoying all of Doug's progress...on average, we are both pretty productive. Unfortunately, he's way above average and I've been stagnant. Maybe  today, I will relocate the location of the layout (in the same room) as my vision for it is being refined every day, in my head...so, theoretically, once I get my hands a little dirty - progress should come fast.

My wife's brother and his boys are coming tomorrow, so I just don't know...lots of hosting and entertaining this month, not to mention a trip to Costa Rica, and end-of-year work stuff are hopefully lightening up soon. Daylight ahead  ::)

Son and his son arrived Thursday night for a replay of Wednesday's festivities with the five local family members. I didn't bother with the hearing aids this AM as the noise levels will be off the charts. Looking forward to the fun.
Working on my second million. I gave up on the first.
