Thanks guys for your kind words. Once the widows and entrance door is built
then it's on to sorting out the roof trusses.

You should add clear skylight to see the interior.

Larry C

Dang! Never thought of that; thanks Philip.

You can actually use real glass and affix wood or plastic channel to it. I've done it before with some glass structures long ago.

Just a thought. Here is an example using window frames.

Thanks for the link; I think I saw that years ago. Also I did forget to mention, old age?...nah, the roof is going to be removable so the interior can be seen. I might even add lighting as well.

Lighting really bring them to life. When I finish my current build I plan on lighting up all the darkness on my layout. I have a ton of led's. In hindsight a terrible mistake not adding light as I was building

Micheal thank you so much and it's nice seeing you here.

Yup been there, done that with regret. It's good you can go back and fix the lighting issues.

Time for an update:

IMG_TS026.jpeg

The rafters are done and the sub-roof is done as well made from 2x10's for strength. I did color the the underside of the sub-roof which really isn't seen but I know it's been done. For whatever reason the front right end is a little funky so I may have to shim that end rafter. Also the windows are finished with acetate added for glass and made dirty with some white glue smeared on and allowed to dry. The front window I did model as closed and the door still needs to be built.

IMG_TS027.jpeg

Both end windows I modeled as open for some variety. You can see here the right back rafter may need some shimming. The roof itself will be from 1x10's grained and colored going in the opposite direction. By doing this I'm hoping that will help straighten the sub-roof.

Here is the Shop with the roof off so the interior details are visible. I did add lighting in the rafters so I'll snap a pic tonight and post it tomorrow.

Next will be adding the outer roof and shimming the end rafter if need be. As always thanks for taking a look and leaving your comments/suggestions.

Very good Larry. All kits seem to have issues at some point.

Curt thank you. Since this is a scratch build any fit issues are on me;
but I should be able to fix the issue.

Larry, I'm sure you'll figure out what's going on with the roof and get it repaired.
You're coming down the home stretch now.

Excellent work, Larry.  Have fun, mike

Larry C

Rick thanks. I already have a couple of idea for the roof repair but adding the outer roof
seems to helping the problem.

Mike thank you so much and yes I'm having fun.

Curt no worries, I've misread stuff plenty of times.
