I'm enjoying the integration of the scenes  one to the next. Within  your concept of individual scenes, there is a certain underlying  uniformity that blends them into a central theme. it's good stuff.

Philip, Ron, Tom, and Dave thank you for your great compliments.
Rick had a good point about adding the bands to the belts so we'll
see what I can come up with when I get a chance.

Had some time late this morning and did a little more on the back wall of the Tractor Sales & Repair Shop:

IMG_TS015.jpeg

Carefully removed the belts off the hooks and grabbed tweezers, new toothpick, and a straight pin then set to work "banding" the belts with a narrow strip of white paper along with a little white glue to hold everything together. Used the tweezers and a straight pin to open up the loops on the belts then glued them in place. They do look much better as well as hanging better.

The other detail is the oil sump which is another SW print. The top metal parts were painted with gun metal paint and the body was colored with raw umber chalk & clear alcohol applied heavily. After everything dried then added some black chalk to simulate oil spilling over the sides. The bottom of the bottle was painted brown to simulate oil. The unit was glued to the back wall. I do have an air compressor to go in between the locker and sump but that will be glued to the floor when I get to that point in the build.

Next up is to figure out what's going on the bench and maybe add a couple of shelves over the bench and fill it with shop stuff. Not a lot, but a little progress and as always thanks for taking a gander.

Howdy Larry,

The banding made the belts look even more authentic.  Is that a lubster I spy?  Nice job painting it.  The additional details really set the scene off.

Have fun,
mike

Rick

Larry, the belts look better with the banding.
Nice job too on the oil sump.

Your layout is really beautiful Larry. Your work is really great. Been following it all along. When I was over at Railroad line. I couldn't reply to you because of there rules. Your shelf layout is giving me Ideas for the one I will be building. I am starting one which will be 24 inch x 8 feet. Keep up the great work. And keep posting. Thanks Larry. Bob.

Larry C

Bob thank you so much and thanks for posting your comment. It gives me something
to tinker with, especially during the cold winter months. Thanks for following along.

Thanks Larry. I will post some pictures of my layout when I get going with it.  That's if I know how. I only Have 2 of my  2x4 lay out tables done.  I think I will be using Peco  On30 track code 100. I think Its going to be a point to point. I would like to have a loop thou. but.  Is your layout going to be a point to point ?  Well talk to guys later. Bob.

Larry C

Bob sounds like you're building a good sized layout and look forward to your thread. To answer your question it's a "point to point" of sorts. Back on page 1 of my first post is a photo of the entire layout; I like to call it an "out & back" arrangement where you start on the left end (Engine Shed) and go to the far right end of the layout then back across the dried up creek bed to where the Salvage building resides (across from the Engine Shed). Sorry for being so long winded with your question.
