Good afternoon folks,

I've been working on siding most of the morning, along with a light dry brushing of tan on the engine shed.  I started work on the office interior yesterday and still have some details to print and paint. 

Engine shed after dry brushing with a light tan.  It toned down the stark white of the stones.  Now I can start with colors.



Office interior work began with flooring, stove, coffee pot, map of the line, work desk, and a few crates. I doubt if you will be able to see any of it, but I had to try.



Today, I hope to finish all the outbuilding siding, after a nap.

Mike, stone walls look good already.
And you always do a great job on the interiors.

The way Brian and Dave taught me to do mortar was to make the mortar color very thin and use a small pointy brush.
Load some of the mortar on the brush and just touch it between the stones.
Capillary action draws the mortar color around the stones.
If by accident a get a bit of mortar on the rocks I scrape it off lightly with an exact and touch up the rock if I need to.
Keep using the method that works for you.

Rick, I took classes from those two, too.  That technique worked well for me in HO, but I couldn't get it to work in O scale.

Howdy folks,

Today I worked on several tasks: the engine shed track and floor, and rafters in the work areas.

I'm not sure why the kit featured an area in bare wood, but here it is finished and ready for the roof.  

The structure on the left has the big sliding door installed and is ready for the rafters and personnel door.  I'll add a workbench and tools to the finished model.



I found a plywood board in my laser stock and decided to use it.  I added the rails to the engine shed floor.  The photo shows how the structure will go together.  A roof connects the main shed and the smaller ones.  This photo shows their approximate location.



Next up will be the roof for the small sheds and figuring out the wiring for the lighting.
