Howdy folks,

Fresh back from a vacation from being retired, and have new energy to work on the layout.  First:

Karl, thank you so much.

Gregory, thanks for the kind comments.

Kyle, wow, your comments.  Of course, there will be pigeon stuff on the roof, you just can't see it "yet".

Rich, those are some mighty fine comments.  I appreciate it.

Thanks to all for looking.

Have fun,
mike

Howdy folks,

I just finished a tricky bit, aligning the bridge deck and adjoining ties.  I had rubber bands, clamps, and zip ties holding the bridge ties to the bridge structure.  I don't plan to glue the ties on the bridge deck until I add the rail.

After some trimming, both abutments are plumb and level with the glue drying.

Next, I'll fill in the abutment sides (seen with some black lines marking strata.

Here are a couple of photos of the bridge abutments "in the clamps".

Howdy folks,

The abutments are in place. Here are a few shots of the supports removed from the abutments and one of the bridge in place.

I started working with the foam in preparation for Sculptamold.

Howdy folks,

Today I started to install the road, and just like Kyle, had a brainstorm to add even more space for the structures.  I wasn't happy with the spacing between structures.  Making the placement look realistic was becoming a problem, so...

I cut out even more of the lower layout.  Here are the before and after shots:

I'll need to extend the street in the front of the layout and fill in the walls.

From left to right, here are the modules in Phase I in their current state with proposed structures:

The main street (lower) in this module will get a Masonic Lodge, a hotel, a fire station, etc.

These structures are in their respective places on the center module.  A road will take up the front edge of the layout.

The right module structures are placed in their proposed location.  I'll have room for a barnyard, truck, and car parking.  Once again a road will follow the front of the layout.

That's it for now.  It's time to glue some road down.

Have fun,
mike
