Morning all,

High of 75 today with possible rain this morning.

I have a fourth company coming today to give me a roofing/siding estimate.  We'll see how these all pan out.

A trip to the credit union is on tap for today, otherwise nothing planned for hump day.

The highlight of the Quad City Air Show was the Thunderbirds.  I've seen them a few times and the show never gets old.

It's a bit cool and cloudy in SE NH, 62 heading to 72.  Might see some sun this afternoon.

Yesterday I installed and hooked up the steam engine to the drive shaft.  I have to finish attaching the belt today.  I also ordered some MIG oil stain washes after watching a video on adding oil and grease stains to tanks and airplanes.  It's a local company, so once they ship, I should get the order the next day (their post office, local sorting center, my post office, out for delivery.)

Good Morning, Jeff, and all that follow.

It just crept out of the 40s here with a total clear, calm sky. The dew is heavy, the air is fresh. I was just out getting my Deere out, the dealer is picking it up to replace the mower blades and service the tractor and do a recall on the brakes.

I've a few projects here to work on as the day progresses.

Great shot of the T-birds. I always enjoy them.

Dave, you have more confidence in the PO than I, been waiting a week for a lb of coffee from Grand Rapids. I see that it might be on today's suggested arrival status post.

Enjoy the day all.

Morning all,

It's a cool 80 here going to 92 today.

Pam and I are going to the used book store to see what we can find. I'm reading many of W. Johnstone westerns and the book store has plenty to choose from. Pam like Ann Rule books, which are based on true crimes of murder.

Have a great day ya'll.

Karl, I've had the PO fumble packages (also UPS and even Amazon - there's the air conditioner that I ordered where the handoff between Amazon and USPS was screwed up, and I couldn't figure out what happened.)  But in general, I've had great luck with packages from local internet orders, including scalehobbyist.com and northeasternscalelumber.com

Tom, I used to love going to used bookstores, but frankly we're at saturation for bookshelf space.  That hasn't stopped me from buying books, but I'm now a lot more careful/deliberate about what I get.

I read prolifically and often get books from thrift stores. When I've a collection we return them to thrift stores for passing them on. My biggest problem lately is repeating books. 3/4 way through before I get it's a rerun. By that time I've rekindled the interest and finish it.

I really hate it when the publisher republishes a book with a different cover, and I only figure it out after I've started the book...

These days, though, I'm mostly reading non-fiction from real books, or "space opera" military SF fiction on the iPad (mostly to keep me from getting too bored on the exercise machine.)  Next week a friend's new biography of the Roman emperor Tiberius comes out, to get ready I've been reading a lot of Roman history covering that time period (death of Julius Caesar through the arrival of Caligula.)

Good afternoon, all, from cloudy and cool Mt. Pleasant IA, where the Old Threshers' Reunion opened this morning. The big CA&E interurban #320 just clumped by the carbarn and operators in the lounge are discussing which cars they're running later.

Last book I read was science fiction by C. J. Cherryh; I'd bought it years ago but never got started till early this month.  I finished it promptly.
