Morning all,

Wow, August is ending.  Hawkeyes won their opener yesterday, thought not really convincingly considering the opposition.

Headed to 78 degrees later today.   I have a bush/tree in the back next to the house that needs trimming so that the siding guys can get to the area.  Planning for the Narrow Gauge convention as well.

Sun,  8) , fresh clear sky in the mitten state this morning. Ops went well yesterday.

About to fix up a mess of hash browns and scrambled eggs. Company coming this afternoon for a bit.

The Doll was working the weed patch around the house, says poison ivy is thriving this year  >:( not fun.

Sparty and the A2 choirboys won their patsy games.

Another great early fall day (seems fall is coming early this year, and I'm OK with that!)  It got down to 48 last night, heading to 75.  Not a cloud in the sky...  I've noticed the past week the actual lows have been about 5 degrees below the predicted lows from the day before.  (I'm NOT complaining about that, mind you!)  Maybe it's more radiational cooling because the nights have been clearer than expected.

Anyway, today's time in the train room will be focused on the forge area.

Good Morning Folks;

I was hoping to get to narrow gauge convention this year but will be settling for the Sunshine Region NMRA convention in Ocala. Please send some pictures Jeff. Took the Boss out for breakfast today, she enjoys Sunday's out. Enjoyed the cooler morning but told expect 90 later today. I am working at the bench as I sign in, working on scenery and finishing up details on engine house. One or two more days should do it.

Photo of the day is Cincinnati in 1910, The Miami-Erie Canal went right though downtown for 20-30 years. If I remember the area right the Jack Daniel's plant that was near I-75 for years would have been located in right background near hill you see but I could be wrong.BD740877-74E2-4BA6-8860-6847EBA60A21_1_105_c.jpeg

Have a great day.

Neat photo, Jim. I didn't learn that about Cincinnati during my one visit for an NMRA convention.  Mt. Pleasant Iowa was cool overnight, warming up in the sun now.  I'll be on a trolley in 20 minutes for a 4 hour shift...

Morning all,

I probably wouldn't have noticed it's a three day weekend if it weren't for my better half and son pointing it out.  ;D

I plan on spending a little time at the workbench later on.  ;)

Have a great one!

Afternoon all,

I've been working on a few 1:1 stuff today and finished just prior to the 15 minute rain shower.

Remember Bob, Every Day is Saturday, Except Sunday.

Hope all are having a great day.
