Morning all,

Sunny and headed to 90 (!) degrees today.

I have a flu shot scheduled this morning and then a trip to Costco.  The dog groomer will be here soon and the dog already suspects something's up as my wife is already up as well.  The dog does NOT like getting groomed.  If you're walking her and she sees the van, she will start to go the opposite direction.

Sunny and the lake is dead calm here in the great North.

Had a dog as a kid that loved to ride in the car but had a sixth sense that all was not right on days of Vet trips.

The girls and I enjoyed the Pictured Rocks boat trip yesterday. The weather was fine, always cooler when you're the out on the lake on a moving boat.

iPhone is nuts this morning. Twice I've had to go back and delete sentences, it's been eavesdropping on my conversation  >:( that side of tech is off-putting to me. Our daughter that works in online marketing has told us some very disturbing things about the internet and what they can do and deciphering what you doing, saying and such.
Just seeing a flurry of ads about something you've been talking about seems evil to me.

A bit of house work today. In an out. The girls have headed down below after brightening our weekend. We head home Wednesday as I have PT the next day.

Be well all. Enjoy.

Well, one dog woke me up twice last night to go out (with the runs).  I think she's getting better, we'll see tonight.  It will probably take me a couple days before i get a full good night's sleep, without worrying about it.

No German class for the next couple of weeks, teacher is out with an ankle(!) replacement.  So I'll head down to the train room to work on some more furniture for the machine shop.

I've never tried Siri, so I have it disabled.  The only time I talk to computers is to swear at them, and I don't want them to answer. ;D

My Brother in Law swears by Siri. Gena and him went on an outing using the map feature and it said "you have reached your destination". Gena said it was the edge of a corn field! chuckling... ???

Good Morning Folks;

One of our Pups turns four today amazing how fast time is going by, he is four already, the other turns four in two weeks. Yesterday we went out to lunch and watch a football game at Hooters. Going the wife apparently hit the button to lower back truck door while I was still near it and it hit me in the head coming down. Next thing I knew I am on my knees, trying to clear my head and wondering where all the blood dripping on the floor was coming from. Ended up with a good gash as I caught the door edge but nothing worse than a headache. Apparently it is true, I do have a hard head.

Today I continue the detail work on the hotel I am preparing for the Sunshine Region Convention. I am in the bored phase of working on it. Making lots of tiny parts, knowing how much needs to be done and knowing it is all fiddelebit stuff, needed but painful to complete. Sounds like a great day to be fishing instead but it won't finish itself. Have a great day everyone.

My wife would hit me in the head if I wanted to go to Hooters... :o

Afternoon all,

Me too, Dave. Alexa is built into our Smart TV but I haven't turned it on. After the run around the Smart TV gave me this morning, thanks to an OS update, I was wishing for the old dumb TV.  :P

Sorry to hear your car attacked you, Jim. Hope it wasn't too bad.

Think I'll spend some time at the workbench. The current build is moving along. Haven't started a thread on it yet but I will. One of these days.

Have a great one!

"Smart TVs" are probably the worst possible device for "steal your data".  Remember, anything you get for "free" is paid for by selling your information to others.   MUCH better to get a "dumb TV" and use a plug-in device from a vendor you trust.  (In my case, that's Apple TV with a couple of streamers managed through Apple, BritBox and Acorn.)

The folding table to put underneath my DCC testbed plywood arrived today, so I guess I should get to work on that project.

Good evening, all. It was sunny and touched 82F as I worked on track in York Co., Maine today.  Meanwhile another gang got the 3-circuit rotating hydraulic coupling in our Pettibone Speed Swing back together, The machine dates to 1974 when I was still in HS, but we depend on it for many kinds of heavy lifting.  I've finished today's report, now I'll shut the chickens into their coop.  Then pay a couple of bills.

I only allow my phone to listen to me when I need to take calls while driving. But about half the time it decides that something I said to the caller is actually a request to call or text someone else.  I leave the "talk to it" feature off when not driving my car.
