Good Morning,

Philip safe travels.

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. That photo looks to be a lot warmer than it's here. Hope the heater repair goes well and travel safely.

Tom have fun with the tower.

Dave I was actually surprised Louis never made it over to here; although neither did Roland/Hopeless both are great modelers and miss their work. Speaking of wood shingles I make my own using either 1x10's or 2x10's then I can color them exactly how I want them. The only drawback is it's a very tedious process.

Karl you're a little warmer than we are here. This weekend is going to be brutal w/ the Arctic air returning.

Ron my sincere condolences concerning the loss of your Aunt. Hope you get some modeling in soon.

Mike have a great modeling day.

What's the rest of you doing.

It's a sunny 18 with a high of 23. This weekend the Arctic air returns and the temps drop right into the basement. Saturday they're saying -25 with windchills and sn*w; doubt I'll be going to my Daughters...too darn cold. The Challenge diorama is done so I'll post an update after here.

Have a great day!! Be well, stay warm, and safe travels.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening Philip and Breakfast Rick. I hope your heater gets repaired today Rick.

Just got back home from my walk at a damp 57F from the early morning rain. The sky is still gray and overcast.

Yesterday I "planked" all of the colored wood and I'm not even half way done with the barn. I don't know if not enough strip wood was included (unusual) or what the
issue is. The pouch it came in was sealed when I got it. The planks are 2x10 size so I will color what I have but I see a trip to the LHS in my future. :(

So much for my day.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning everyone

Rick thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
Did you cook the breakfast over that fire pit??
Glad your feeling better.

Tom looking forward to the update.

Dave go with the wood shingles.

Karl don't you hate when they do that?

Ron I've been seeing a lot of F1 testing runs.

Mike the mail must go through.

Larry I'll look at the update in a minute.

Curt I hope you have enough wood.  Not very often that Brett makes a mistake.

Weather in South Jersey sunny/31.  RF/35.
A few errand to run this am.
Then back to the wall just need to put in the firestops.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

TomO there sure are lots of ways to lose track of online time.  Facebook seems totally without merit from what I hear from the Doll.  She marvels at the total amount of self discipline of comments folks put out there.  She does stay out of the fray after suffering anguish over political stuff in recent years.  That stuff breads viral hatred I can not believe.

I think Facebook is a great wealth of sell/buy sites, modeling, tips, techniques and ideas for model railroaders. Make what you want of it.

That said, I don't look at ads, reels or tolerate anything political, religious or financial. It's been years since I looked at the reels or the ads.  I certainly don't need a bankrupt financial expert giving me advice.

My Facebook page says it is a political, religious and financial free zone. I delete and block the few that try

Good morning from an Olympic hockey break in Wisconsin.

Yep, watching TV of the Czechia and USA Women hockey. US is winning 1-0

Not sure what today will bring. Normally on Thursday we head out for breakfast but hockey was the morning priority.

Ron sorry to read about your aunt

Mike said,"Karl, congrats on the layout modification.  Are those trestles completed...?"  >:( Don't push me...'completed' well the bents are built but placing and proper support are going agonizingly slow, as I'm making it all up as I go... :P glad no one is looking over my shoulders for sure.  ::)

Did make some micro steps today...

Good Morning,

I see Rick's here but I'll get us breakfast anyways. Coffee and the usual morning beverages are ready and waiting. Breakfast will be cheesy scrambled eggs, toast w/ butter, pan sausages and/or crispy bacon, and hash browns.

What's everyone up to today.

It's a whomping 8 with a high of still too damn cold. Have the usual morning errands to run then a few more tweaks to the Challenge build. Not sure about the rest of the day.

Have a great day!! Be well, keep warm, and be careful out there.

Good morning folks,

Larry, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast. Congrats on the challenge diorama completion.

Curt, hope you have enough wood.

Jerry, firestops installed?

Karl, sounds like progress.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a cold morning, but warming to 63°F.  Yesterday I reprinted a figure since it looked too small. Not much else was accomplished. I see figure painting in my future.

Have fun,
mike

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Larry. It's a little chilly your way. I'm not sure there is much more you can do to improve your current project.

Starting out here with a feel like of 33F and headed to 63F. Yesterday I colored my remaining correctly sized strips. I don't think it will be enough but after animal chores I'll glue down what I have. If I go MOH wants to come with me and go to the Oriental food store. It's on the same road as the LHS about 3 min away but there is always a very heavy traffic intersection between the two.

Tomorrow MOH and daughter have a rescue event about 90 minutes away and the 2 recent rescues are going to their new home.

That's it for me.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone.

57. now in Mohave Valley, sunny and 79 later.

Larry, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
I peeked in earlier and saw you were so I left and came back later.
I like what you did with your diorama, but I'm not sold on the tarp.

Mike, I figured you'd be painting.  ;)

Karl, micro steps is fine.
Start a thread and we can all look over your shoulder.

TomO, did the US win the game?

Jerry, firestops?

Curt, very unusual that there wouldn't be enough wood in Brett's kit.

Ron, hope you got home earlier last night.

Dave, did you pick something for the roof?

ACLTom, I'll have to see if there's a thread update.

How's the rest of the crew.

Heater part showed up earlier than expected and work was completed earlier than expected.
Since the heater fix finished early I decided to tough it out and make it all the way to Mohave Valley.
I got here around 4:30.
Mostly taking it easy today and definitely not driving anywhere.
My daughter and grandkids will be here later.

This is an older picture from 2023 at Medicine Bow Peak in Wyoming.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning Larry, Mike, Curt, Rick and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Larry, will have to check out your latest progress on your diorama build.

Mike, have fun with the figure painting.

Curt, have fun working on the kit, hope you stained enough wood.

Rick, enjoy the visit with your daughter and grandkids.

Jerry, 3 days of testing at Barcelona just happened, was interesting, Mercedes and Ferrari did well, Williams couldn't put a car together in time, but it is just testing, which means the season is around the corner (March 7, 2026)

Current weather is -17c (1f) and cloudy with light s%$w showers in the forecast.  Later this morning is my Aunt's funeral and then after that I should get in some bench time.  The trip home last night was uneventful which allowed me some time at the bench last night.  Besides, I don't work Fridays so I can stay up later.  At the bench I made the doors and added some roof bracing as the plan is to make the roof removable.

Have a great day everyone.

Nothing to add this morning.  Still cold but 'warmer' but feels damp. ::)

3d project might get some attention.  The Doll is giving up coffee, again, cold turkey as well as Diet Coke, etc.  :-X

Micro progress on the layout.

Condolences re: your Aunt, Ron
Karl

TomO/Tloc

Good morning from here! We hit the high for the day, 36. 1st time in 22 days we offically are over the freezing line.

Rick USA won 5-1, easy game, no real contest

Karl, cold turkey? Wow it going to be a tough 5 days to clear out the caffeine dependency. I remember when I stopped caffeine and the headaches were miserable. I can tell you water is no substitute for a caffeine loaded drink. My medical team says the 1 diet Dr Pepper I drink at wake up is ok but I consciously try to avoid caffeine. Best to the Doll on this adventure, oh and buckle in for the ride. I guess I drove Terry nuts that 1st week

No real plans for today. I have sheet styrene and Black Sintra being delivered today. 5 of us got together to order from the local plastics distributor and we got a super deal. I have .040. .060 and .080 plain sheet styrene coming cut to 2'x 4' sheets and 3mm and 8mm Black Sintra cut to 2'x 5' sheets. 2 of the guys are driving over to pick it up and all I know was they said they will be here before 5pm.

Be well
TomO

Morning everyone

Larry thanks for the coffee & breakfast.

Mike good luck with the LP painting.

Curt hope you get the missing wood today.

Rick glad you got the heater fixed and made it home.
Don't forget to have those that stone problem looked out before you have another attack.

Ron looking forward to the update.

Karl I's be careful around the Doll the next few days while she gives up all the caffeine!!  ;D

TomO there some good size sheets.  You won't run out any time soon.

Weather in South Jersey M. sunny/27.  Later on 31.
The weekend is supposed to ne really cold here with high winds.
Had dinner last night with the neighbors went to Olive Garden.
We have a few errands to run this morning.
No the firestops did not get done!!!!  Maybe this afternoon.

Everyone have a great day!  :)

Afternoon all,

I slept late today and loved it. Slept until almost 8AM and it was great.

I decided to take it easy this morning and read. I finished two books I started last week.

I went to Chic-fil-a and got Pam and I a Chic meal. That was great as well.

I've been in the train shed the past hour and plan to update the tower build.

Hope all are having a great day, staying safe and healthy.
